So whats up with my generation? Our cultral charictaristics seem to be that our music is so bad we listen to our parents music, music tastes among kids my age seem to be fragmented. The internet has now allowed instant communication, the way to rebel against the earlier generation is to text in class. And schools are now pushing 13 year olds to start looking at college now. We did a whole report on the college of our choice in 8th grade. And while I am an ardent capitalist, I feel corporations have finally achieved their dream of cheap cookie cutter crap in most things, music included, because consumers won't open up their eyes. Every movie is a remake or sequal, I see Disney has achieved entertainment dominance over Generation Z with it's bland shows, bad pop music, and constant milking of them. I feel that rock music, as a creative genre, after 50 years, is, at least in the mainstream, dead. And the next big thing will probably be electronic. I now feel that the future of modern music is in alternative country. Hopefully there will be a musical revolution to sweep away the awful songs that now pass as "country" music on the radio. What are everyone elses thoughts about generation Y? And yeah, I know alot of my post was about music.

Don't worry Jacob12.

When the disco was "in", I thought it was going to never end.
And then, it did :)
The beat changed again.

So one day, things are going to change again. Why not?

For the generation, I won't say anything. I don't like speaking in those terms. An Y generation in America may not be the same as somewhere else. It already changes from a school to another so imagine: from one country to another, one continent from another... It's just impossible to generalise.

I dunno. Haven't heard anything to complain about, I guess. I have enough trouble 'living down' the 'boomer' mentality I'm allegedly stuck with...;)
