I got this new card game called Gloom, which I haven't played yet but sounds/looks morbidly entertaining. Has anyone ever heard of this or played it?
I'm going to play it with my mom and her friend tomorrow. Here's the bit on the back of the box (which also has an expansion set which I bought, too):
In Gloom, you control the fate of an eccentric family of misfits. Your goal is sad, but simple: make your character suffer the greatest tragedies possible before helping them to pass on to the well-deserved respite of death. Play cards with horrible mishaps like Pursued by Poodles or Swindled by Salesmen on your own characters, while trying to cheer your opponents' characters with happy occasions. The transparent cards reveal or obscure the effects of cards below; in the end, the totals showing through determine your score-- may the most miserable soul win!
I'll find out exactly how entertaining it is tomorrow.

I played it last night (with myself) and it was really fun, even if I was playing it with myself. I found it available online, although I got it from a local game store in the mall. I don't know if they have the expansion deck available on this website though. Haven't looked yet:

Beware, the cards are see-through plastic and have a bit of a funky plastic smell, which I'm sure will eventually go away when handled enough (or washed). They're see-through because it's part of the game. Very kewel.
