I really really need to brainstorm for this 3-day Halloween festival that is coming up!! !
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated...I have a giant warehouse/venue
( http://www.superhappyfunland.com)...and I want it to be a happening place for halloween....we have bands scheduled for the 3 days surrounding Halloween...thursday...friday...saturday...

Here are the ideas I have so far:

I have a section of the warehouse that is consumed by the old broken pianos that my dad has compulsively collected..They create a sort of den ....I thought about draping and canopying that area in white sheets...and having black lights and strobe lights and scary slap-dash day-glow paintings in there....

Also there will be a tv in there that shows non-stop old campy scary films....In that area, there is a Baldwin Fun Machine....I also want to have someone in a scary costume in that room...playing scary songs on the Baldwin at some point....

We own a video projector...so there will be scary old films projected onto the wall in one spot, but I also want to have scary films on tvs scattered throughout the place...if we can scrounge up enough dvd players and whatnot...

I have had ideas about constructing zombies out of old recycled cardbord...it seems conceivable in my head..but a tad daunting when I look at the cardboard...

Just seeking some input from you folks if you have any....

thanks......

The scariest thing I can imagine is being put in a coffin where I couldn’t move my arms or legs to even try to get out. So how about a two way door that is a coffin where you enter from one door and have to wait for the other door to open to get through, like a two door elevator? You can make the “wait” for the other door to open as long as you want.

Blacklight paint goes well on black sugar paper.
Also glow in the dark pumpkins, dry ice and coloured flames are pretty awesome.

Or something mechanical like this, but it's more complicated.

I'm not sure how funny or scary you're thinking of making it, sooooo

the pianos cry out for people to be tied to them, or skeletons tied to them with a creepy Beetlejuice sort of character playing the strings with bones. The movies are a good idea, but edit them together so they make no sense whatsoever. Cut out small cardboard zombies so their shadows cross the movie screen by passing in front of the projector. Dress a person up like a people eating plant in a huge pot, and have it chewing on a dismembered leg.

My uncle has a permanent haunted house set up and the thing that scared me the most was this metal grate that you HAD to walk over. It had a pneumatic wrench bolted to it that shook a lot and made a lot of noise. It had to be manned though so you got people when they were all on it.
I always wanted to make a couple fake styrafoam cinderblocks that some monster could walk around with like they're heavy and such and then throw them at people. Thats a real dangerous scare though.
Anyway I always thought tv's showing dead static were creepy. Eversence poltergiest. Especially if one had a bright red light rigged inside it so that it looked totally overloaded with power.
