Hi everybody,

Halloween is quickly approaching, and I was browsing the internet hoping to come up with ideas for what to do around this time, instead of sitting at home eating all the candy I was supposed to give out to the trick-or-treaters. So I came across the website for Eastern State Penitentiary, an old, disused and possibly haunted prison in Philadelphia. It's been featured in a variety of paranormal-oriented TV shows. Anyway, this time of year they have a haunted house-type attraction there, "Terror Behind the Walls", that could look interesting. It appears to be very highly rated. Unfortunately it wouldn't be for the squeamish or those prone to sensory overloads. Just wondering if any of you guys have ever been to Eastern State Pen during a daytime or even the nighttime tour, and how you liked your experiences there. Is it worth it?

Also, if anybody would be interested in coming along and having dinner in the Philly area, I'm game. Thanks!!

On the other side of the state, for a job that I used to have, I had to go into a old abandoned state mental hospital/"Asylum". It was built in 1904, and shut down in 1941, and just left to sit there, unchanged. They didnt start reform on mental hospitals till late 1940s, so you can imagine what a place like that would be like for the people who had to stay there.
For my job I had to walk around this place, every now and then for a few days, mostly by MYSELF, to make sure there were no body tried to git into the place, that no kids busted down any doors to get in, and that there were no homeless living there.
I wont lie to anyone, it SCARED the crap out of me walking threw this place, and this was in the middle of the day, with plenty of light. It was freaky to begin with, as many rooms still had beds and chairs in them, etc, but since the place had been sitting there for so long, the paint was peeling off the walls, there were cockroaches, mice, and rats running around, and walking threw the basement, had some light, but was as scary as it gets!! !! !!

I will say that I didnt see anything, no ghosts, no people talking that wernt there, nothing out of the usual. I was always hearing creaks and sounds, but that isnt unusual for a old decaying building like that. It was still scary for sure, and to just think of what it must have been like for the people who had to stay there, well I feel lucky
