Elton says:

Quote:
The internet has stopped people from going out and being with each other

Like going to Elton John concerts (for instance....), where you can currently buy tickets for a mere $856?

Is this his battle for artistic purity? 8O

He obviously has a problem with progress. Nobody is forcing people to communicate via the internet, cell phones, etc. People will invariably do what they are comfortable with. The forward march of technology will continue whether we consider ourselves to be Luddites, or not.

The best stuff is not the "Top 40", you'll find it if you dig around for it.
Example: http://www.echoes.org/ or any of the other internet music sites.
The internet has provided a venue where many up and coming artists can
get their chance.

Stop the evil internet!!

He's living in the past, and what he said might just be a career suicide for him.

The internet's here to stay, for the better.

Years ago I was surprised when "high profile" people didn't know a thing about internet, but then I started to see more and more people, even politicians! who don't know a thing about internet...

Music cd sales are over, bands now will have to tour (again), and stop being lazy.
And, honestly, that's great. Lately there have been LOTS of bands touring my country, something that I thought it'd never happen. It's grrreeeeeaaat! :D
