When I was young I used to be scared of plants and leaves.

These days I have a phobia of disinfectants, bleach and chemicals and I'm uneasy with stickers.

Spiders and snakes, jellyfish and eels. Anybody else who might want them can have them all.

When I was little, I was scared of Vincent Price. In the 80s, he was in commercials all the time, and I would run out of the living room when I would see him. Now I laugh every time I see him thinking about that.

I was also scared to be in gyms; I was afraid that the either the roof would collapse or a light would fall.

My phobias:

Approaching good looking women. ( I've taught myself to just go and do it.)

High voltage powerlines and tall antenna towers. (Goes back to bad experience in my childhood.)

Swimming in lakes with seaweed in the water. (Touching that stuff is creepy!)

I'm sort of afraid of heights

As a child, some shadows on my walls gave me the creeps, same as look of things in the dark.

large expanses of glass
yellow
prawns
acrylic knitwear
heights
absolute silence

not quite phobias but almost in the level of revulsion and fear- smell of humans-particularly flatulence, breath, hair smell, unwashedness .
Dog smell.
Gloss Paint.

Anything one would call "bug", with the exception of fruit flies. Those are just dreadfully annoying.
Yes. This means I run away from butterflies (if they get too close). Meh.

Heights. (that's not "weird" though.).

And.
Bob from Bob's Discount Furniture. I used to scream when I heard his voice on the radio. And I twitch and usually change the channel if one of his commercials come on. Guy freaks me out. Don't know why.

When I was younger, I was phobic of guys with facial hair.
Now, I'm mostly indifferent.

Stinging insects!

Bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets... I hate them. It's almost enough to wish for DDT again.

I used to be afraid of dragonflies too, and once jumped completely off a tractor because one flew near me, and the tractor went on to mow over a small pfitzer before I managed to chase it down and stop it (no "dead-man" switch under the seat in those days). Dad was not happy...

Then, just a few years ago, I learned that they cannot sting, because they have no stinging apparatus. Now I will let them land on me so that I can see them close-up. We have a lot of them during the summer where I live. I like them now--they eat other bugs.

But I still have a brief moment of panic anyway until I recognize one for what it is.
