I mostly go on Facebook for the games:
Farmville
Fishville
Cafe World
Superpoke Pets
Pet Society
Happy Aquarium

Plus to talk to my 'children/baby hating' buddies.

I find Facebook very addictive! :D Often I use it for games, but also I also use it to talk to some friends there. :)

Why do people call it "a Facebook" ?

It would be more correct to say, "I have a Facebook account"

Just as funny as "I have the internet on my computer"
I was just wondering that, too

No-one has answered Keith's question about why it's called a Facebook. Since I know the answer, I will answer.

Wasn't he asking why people say, "I have a facebook or I don't have a facebook?" Instead of saying, "I have a facebook account or I use facebook."
That's what I understood. Perhaps I am confused. that wouldn't surprise me given how tired I am right now

I interpreted it just as you natesmom. That "Facebook" is a term everyone is taking for granted to know what it is and to say "a facebook" is just a lazy way to say I have an account on Facebook"

and yeah I have a facebook, haha but I dont like to use it as I dont like the place
But thats because I only have my relatives there and they are not fun to talk to....
I would probably like to talk there if I had a nickname and could talk to random strangers, just as on this forum

I have a facebook, PM me for facebook request :D i'd happily accept anyone on there.

I don't really like facebook... Its too complicated for me and I normally try to avoid some people I know on there

I personally think facebook is good to reunite with friends and family but it can get you into alot of troubles occassionally and its caused a couple of controversey.

But the thing is, why doesn't facebook allow you to use customized nicknames but only your real name? it seems kinda crazy to me.

I'm on Facebook. I'd rather keep up with people I know there than have to meet them in person or talk on the phone all the time. I prefer controlling my interaction with them on my own terms.

You don't think people use nicknames on Facebook? Check it out sometime- there are plenty!

I was pretty happy with facebook for awhile because I had a bunch of people that I hadn't seen in a long time send me friend requests within the first 48 hours of signing up. Lately though I dont check it out much because everyone I know is obsessed with goofy quizzes and posting stuff that I cant personally find any relavence in. I still check in now and then because sometimes things change in their lives and I can play catch-up all over again. The worst thing about it is that it makes me feel like a social misfit all over again. I'm the only single person I know on there and my page has said so for about 2 years now.

I don't have a Facebook account, and I won't be getting one.

I'm not looking to find anybody from my past, and I don't want to be found by any of them. I moved 1100 miles to get away from them.

I am a non-entity on the web. I've searched my name, and I don't come up after 200 pages, and I like it that way. Mind you, there are hundreds of pages that refer to me under another identity or two, which are usernames from my hobbies (totally above-board, non-skeevy hobbies). But they don't identify me in any way, or provide anyone with a way to contact me. I have been very careful about that.

I have a Facebook account. I got it originally because a friend asked me to sign up to play some games on there with her. Now I use it as a means of finding out how friends and family are doing more than anything else. I use it frequently as I can then talk to people at my convenience and on my terms. I also have a Myspace account but haven't been on it in over a year now. I did have Bebo account but deactivated it. And I don't think I'll be signing up to Twitter anytime soon.

Anything that requires sustained connections with people is not for me. That includes Facebook.

It's too public. On my own time, I surround myself with groups of people that are outside of school, and no one at school knows about it. I want to keep it that way. The whole school does not need to know more about me than the little bits they know about me through communicating with me.

Plus, it's like one webpage represents me on Facebook. And it cannot represent me. The only "me" is the person people see and talk to. Even if I'm offline, my page still stays there. It's like being a bystander in a massive conversation. It's like I'm actually trying to get myself out there and be social. It's like I care about my social status.

I'll let people do whatever they want. They can gossip about me or anyone else all they want, but I'm not taking part in any of it. Whatever other people say is not going to affect me and my life.

I probably have half of my graduating high school class on there now.
