... does Sonic have a drive thru? Why?

I am amazed that so many people are oblivious. Either that or they just have some time to kill. Perhaps they think you have to tip them if you don't go through the drive thru.
The other day I went to a Sonic and about 10 cars were waiting. There were only three cars in stalls. I was tempted to go up to each car and ask them. Maybe I will someday.

Just for people who don't know Sonic. It is a fast food joint.

Here is a picture of the stalls. You drive up to a stall and order. They come right out to give you the food. Most of the stalls are usually empty and the drive thru is full. I seriously don't understand. It is annoying me.

Are people really that dumb or oblivious? Would it be considered rude just to walk up to someone in the drive thru and ask them? Someone who is about four cars down?
I personally don't think it's rude but then again, I don't think any blunt question is rude as long as it's not passive aggressive or intended to be rude - make sense?

I wish we could have places with stalls where they bring the food out to you and you don't have to idle the car, but then again, not too many fast food workers would want to run out in -40 degree celcius weather to to take an order then run back out into the cold to bring it.

I was so confused the first time I was at a Sonic, I didn't know what to do at the stalls or how to order. Someone had to come out and help me. I would have preferred the drive-thru.

That's funny. Perhaps that's why people do it. I would have never gone to sonic if someone I know didn't take me. I still don't know if we are suppose to tip. Oh well. Drive thru is still strange.

You kinda do have to tip them if you don't go through the drivethru. I know people will argue, saying tipping is archaic and unnecessary if the servers earn minimum wage, but come on, be decent. Is not waiting in line worth two bucks to you? Remember, time is money.

Kinda like at the train station when people get on the world's longest line to go down to the tracks... Stand there for sometimes longer than an hour.

Except, being first in line gives you little to no advantage with choosing a seat. I just wait till the line is gone before getting out of my seat.

When I was a kid in the 1950's you pulled into the parking lot of a burger joint.

A waitress came out on roller skates and took your order.

Then she hung a tray on the driver's door and put the food on it.

Excuse my "harshness" ...... Asking "Why is there a drive through", and harassing the customers, isn't the most brilliant course of action.
