It's a new adjective for the ridiculously mundane idiocy that we can get sucked into. When you say something is "jersey shore" you realize that it is ridiculous and are then able to laugh at the absurdity of the situation.

as far as the show I think it's the most honest thing mtv has done since they sold out about 5 minutes after they started. I remember when it used to be about music and now they aren't making any bones about who their demographic is, which is great because it will probably be the final death knell of the channel.
