Hi all,
You may know me. Okay, this is kind of like a for-fun question. In what opinion, which is the best city to live in that has:

Diversity (as in people from different nationalities, foreign film venues (if those places even exist)
Good public transportation (Just in case I can't drive with my AS and all-I haven't been sent out on even starting to learn to drive yet)
Good visual arts
Preferably conservative or moderate (It doesn't really matter all much, it just can't be too liberal)
Decent cost of living
Weather wise-I don't mind rainy, cloudy weather-It's the snow I dislike
Least cases of natural disasters (or I can also deal with them, as long as the natural disaster in question was survive-able)
Really cool, down-to-earth people
A healthy city (with lots of people who go to the gym on most days)

This is also assuming I might move there when I move out.

San Antonio, TX might be a good fit. The public transportation is thorough but not excellent (buses). I wouldn't describe it as a health-conscious city over-all, but there are a lot of people who go to the gym regularly, and there are a lot of good places to go jogging. I found it to be a really nice place to live if you live down-town. There's a lot of different stuff to do. It's got a thriving visual arts scene that is hungry for new artists. "Diverse" would be an understatement. "Low cost of living" would be an understatement too (in the summer, your electric bill may be more expensive than your rent!). Politically, it's on the conservative side with a very healthy blend. Disasters: you see tornado warnings on a regular basis but never an actual tornado, and it's prone to flooding in the winter, but usually not enough to be much of a problem. It never snows.

There are a bunch of nice, smaller cities in the central Texas area that you might like. Or maybe one of the cities in the Carolinas or Georgia.

Seattle kind of fits. :3
It is sort of liberal, (not in-your-face though, you can easily ignore it if you want) and while it's not TOO expensive, it's also not the cheapest place to live (except Capitol Hill, which is also the most liberal area, but you'll never see that side of it if you live lower down on the hill where it's nice and quiet.)
but everything else is pretty much a perfect fit! Especially public transport. The bus system is great and Seattle is the center of western WA bus-travel so you can easily get anywhere from there.
Lots of film festivals, art galleries, art shows, etc.
Hardly any snow or natural disasters.

I don't really know any other cities..

You want a "diverse" city with safe public transport?
Lots of luck.

You want a "conservative" city which is also "diverse"?

You are kidding, right? You couldn't be that naive. Or could you? Perhaps that is the problem.

Actually, it doesn't have to be conservative. It just can't be too in-your-face liberal.
I don't mean uber-conservative, either.

Jackson, TN sucks. Stay as far away from there as possible.

:eew: You can have it.

Okay, I know, I should explain my comment. I can't, really. About once a year I find myself in the City, and always wish I had stayed home. There are neat things to see, like the Exploratorium and museums, but public transportation doesn't go to any of that stuff (at least not in any way I can use). And you're constantly having to step over all the drunks lying on the sidewalk.

Nice architecture, though. And the bridges don't fall apart more than a couple times a year.

I'm not sure what constitutes "in your face liberal". SF might seem that way to some, I suppose.

Last month we got a few flurries, but it was a very far cry from the blizzard of 1985.

Houston is very diverse, and we just elected an openly gay mayor.

Downsides: Heat, humidity, hurricanes, and it's a commuter's city (we have a light rail, but it only goes from Reliant Stadium to downtown).
