What is your current fixation and, if you wish, why does it interest you?

Example:

For me, my current fixation is the planet Mars along with space travel and colonization. It would be cool to visit another planet, and Mars has approximately the same length of day as Earth and a similar axial tilt. It is a bit cold, such as its polar regions get cold enough to freeze CO2, but on the equator, the maximum temperature is about 70°F. If the Martian atmosphere could be increased in pressure, then more warmth could be retained. Basically, I am fixated on the colonization of Mars currently.

The Kinks, they're from London and they give me my thunder. So what, if I only seem to care about The Kinks, right now? I mind my own business and I wish that people would do the same, with my love for The Kinks, and everything about them. :)

I'm not saying that people can't ask me about my obsession. I'm just asking they don't be nasty about it.

My current fixation is on Japanese culture, especially after watching Memoirs of a Geisha. Right now I have a Japanese lantern and a Japanese artwork calendar hanging in my room.

How to combine pencil sketching and photography of the various different states , shapes and forms of flowing water in one stream where I walk my dog, and sell it. (The pictures not the dog.)

Then I am going to start to get into exactly when does one state of water recognizably become another etc.

Descartes-

Japanese culture. Have you read The Narrow Road To The North ? It is brilliant, totally understated quiet genius.

Movies. I have a particular soft spot for movies directed by Tim Burton with Johnny Depp as the lead actor. My favorites are Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm going to see Alice in Wonderland at the theatre this Friday! :D Tim Burton is also working on a movie adaptation of the old-school vampire soap opera Dark Shadows, starring - who else? - Johnny Depp as the vampire Barnabas Collins. Production starts this fall and the movie will be released at an undetermined date next year. I'm very, very excited about both Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows. Burton and Depp have never let me down so far, so my expectations of their upcoming projects are rather high.

However, a movie doesn't have to have Tim Burton on board in order for me to enjoy it. For example, I really enjoy the movie adaptations of Alan Moore's comics, Watchmen and V for Vendetta. Pirates of the Caribbean isn't bad either.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot to mention - Sweeney Todd got me to enjoy musicals. Repo! The Genetic Opera and Rocky Horror Picture Show are awesome.

YouTube is another big one, for me. I listen to anything and everything on Youtube...not just The Kinks.

Law & Order: CI for the last nine years, now perhaps phasing into Star Trek: TNG.
