Do you ever use a verb "vacuum clean"? I've seen it in some dictionaries. While I use "vacuum cleaner" and "vacuum" interchangeably for the appliance, I would only ever use "vacuum" as a verb, never "vacuum clean".

I agree. I've worked as a custodian & I never 1ce used vacuum clean as a noun. I have said I was going to vacuum things clean before.

Nope! During my time cleaning I always said "use the vacuum" or on a rare occasion used "vacuum" as a verb.

I use vacuum as a verb but not vacuum clean.
