It's weird. My parents raised me to play the piano and violin and to listen to classical music. Somehow I never really listened to much classical music in my own free time. I hardly listen to any other music either since I never have much clue what people my age listen to.

I actually don't really know why. Maybe its because I never made much conversations with people ever since I was small. I would hear of some songs people listen to but it somehow never got me to listening to music.

I actually don't have much clue how I would get started to listen to music. I don't even know the names of artists or songs to search for.

Do you have a radio? Would you be interested in listening to the radio? If so, just flip through the stations and stay there. Only change stations when you're absolutely sick of it. Leave a radio on for background sound, if that wouldn't be too distracting for you.

I listen to the radio to get my "pop music" fix, but I only use the internet & CDs to listen to what I really enjoy. I typically listen to music any chance I get, but it may have been as a result of me + friends + family listening to music since I was teeny tiny.

If you go to last.fm (or just about any radio web site), you can use an online radio that doesn't require the input of an artist or band name. I think you can even input a genre (last.fm calls them "tags") into Pandora and skip whatever you don't like. It works.

I'm a music fanatic, so you can tell me songs you like and I'll tell you what's similar/what you could try.

Man its the SAME WITH ME!!
I honestly thought "I was the only one" kinda.... I really never never never never listen to music. I hate music way more than I do love it. When I happen to listen to any music then its forced on music, like in a shop and when I want to see a video online and its drowned in earbreaking music, uuuuuh

No I like the power of silence

Ever since I joined WP, I realised that there are rarely anything that is "I am the only one."

I live outside the US so I can't access Pandora (whatever that is, I don't know what it is).

I was always similar. I still don't listen to much. But I'm listening to music now, it's classical music, I suppose. I hate most genres.

I listen to music fairly often, but my tastes are all over the place. Whenever someone asks what kind of music I'm into, or who my favourite band is, I can never figure out how to answer. Most popular music, or maybe just band music in general, has never appealed much to me.

Every so often I come across something that really grabs me, though. Like this, for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIfKqgWP ... re=related

Me too, although I think it deserves as much recognition as "normal music" :) The music associated with the games I grew up on in particular means quit a lot to me.

Wait... really? I thought everyone could access it. www.pandora.com. Try it, just for the hell of trying it. Also: again, I recommend listening to a radio -- if you're OK with that.

Or search for "internet radio" if you don't have an actual radio. I am trying to give you options, but not trying to force or pressure you into anything.

I can't spend a day WITHOUT listening to music. And my tastes are very varied. At the moment I've been listening to a lot of american indian stuff.
I don't know how anyone can't listen to music for most of the day... it's impossible :o

I really like classical music (especially The Four Seasons by Vivaldi.) I heartily recommend it!

Chiptunes and keygen music is awesome as well.
