I'm curious, why do people choose to hide in their login time? I have seen profiles here where it says Hidden for last visit.

Do you have Hidden in your profile, what is your reason behind it?

I have no idea. I just noticed yesterday that mine is hidden so I guess I must have made it that way sometime in the past, but I don't know what my motive would have been.

Some people are very private people. I'm not.

I agree. I don't understand why it must be private.

I have heard once that sb was ill and absent at work. Their boss noticed them on any Netplatform (FB, MS or sth) and said if you can be on X, you can also be at work! I don't remember if this person was fired or not, but maybe WP-users hide themselves from bosses? :D

I got used to hiding online status and last log in info. I used to make these account things for a game and I got into the habit of hiding that kind of information. I did not like people paying attention to when I was online messing around with those accounts so I took to hiding them so no one would pay attention to me or try to talk to me while I was doing stuff. It made it easier for me to hide. I suppose I never got out of the habit.

I'm hidden. I do it incase someone decides to stalk me. Its not much to stop anyone from stalking me. But its something I also have always done with my ISP and any other thing I was on. I have been seriouly stalked twice already in my life. Being stalked one time is one time too many. Its very scary. The first time was so bad the FBI got involved. You never know, someone here might decide to stalk me. I suppose I am paranoid from experiences I have had in the past. :(

I think another aspie and I caused a user here to go hidden because of an argument at the other board. He goes there too. We accused him of backing out of an argument and my aspie buddy called it a hit and run tactic and bam he was back in the thread posting because he got accused. Now his logins are hidden.

I have no idea why people do it, but I keep my login status open.

If you keep your status hidden, it doesn't show up at the top of the forum you're visiting. I've gotten random PMs that way from some n00bs who have 0 posts. I've PMed then back, only to receive no reply. How annoying.

Also, sometimes I visit WP too much and become ashamed of it. I also sometimes have to take a long time to reply to PMs because I don't formulate my response right away, especially to long PMs which overwhelm me.

That is actually the reason for the behavior of most people in Minnesota.

LG, by "hit and run", do you mean the person will come in and start arguing and then will slink away because (s)he lost the argument, but will sneak around the forum then to avoid the people (s)he was arguing with? I want to make sure I understand this "hit and run" term.
