Recently I've stopped using bug spray because of this problem. My cats seem to get the munchies every time I kill a bug. I've been having a lot of bug trouble lately.

Anyway some wopper of a wasp came flying in, so I got my fly swatter out which hardly did anything. He was still moving a little bit but not much on the floor. I was about to smash with my shoe until I turned around and found one of my cats chewing on him. Before I could get it out of his mouth, he swallowed it!

Should I be worried? :hmph:

I've seen outside cats eat bugs all the time but to be safe I'd look it up on google or something

My cat has eaten plenty of wasps. Unless the cat is allergic, you shouldn't worry. :)

Well nothing has happened, thanks Felgen.

I don't have a car to go to the vet so I'm hoping he can hold out for more than a couple of days.

My dog loves to dig up wasp nests and chases them all over the backyard eating them. I keep a bottle of Benadryl on hand in case she gets too carried away.

I was once advised that if an animal is stung somewhere in the throat, it could swell up and put their breathing at risk. I'm not sure how real that danger is, but it's probably best to avoid letting them eat things with stingers still attached if you can.

Once my dog got stung by a wasp, but she was fine in about 3-4 days. :)

I would be so scared if that happened to one of my cats 8O Not that I'm aware of any acute complications that could result from swallowing a wasp...

Just a little extra protein! My cats catch and eat bumblebees. flies, and crickets among other bugs. I saw one reach up a grab a bumble in one paw and stuff it in his mouth- gone in seconds. I think it is their predator nature and I encourage it because if my mom isnt around to kill creepy crawlies I need the cats to do it!
