And by headphones, I'm talking about the ones on iPods and MP3s, not the ones on CD players. Anyway, I always have a hard time getting headphones to fit inside my ears. Whenever I put them in they pop out a few seconds later. I'm guessing it's because my ears are so small, but I don't know. Does anybody have any idea why this happens?

The same thing happens to me, and it drives me crazy. It happens, when I'm walking around.

The exact same thing happens to me! I have Sony Ipod headphones, they don't really pop out as much because of the shape of it.

By headphones you mean earphones.

You've got poorly designed earphones, or poorly designed earholes :P . It's most likely the former. I suggest inner ear (noise cancellation) earphones. They plug into your earhole, and so don't fall out.

I got a cheap pair of earphones once after I lost a bud for my better ones, and found this problem. They were made of soft plastic, and so I carved them into a slightly more ergonomic shape with a craft knife. It helped until I got another pair of buds.

Sony and a couple other brands make some that have a silicon tube rather than the round foam covered buds. They come with a few different size/ shape silicon buds so you pick one that is comfortable, and they are very soft. The only thing is that they are around $40- or were when I bought mine. Fabulous sound though. I currently use the nice ones that came with my iPod.

I agree with Pumibel-- I use the headphones that came with my iPod Touch. They are excellent quality. Where other headphones would die from the stretching, knots, and other abuse that my headphones suffer in my pocket, these have been unaffected. Additionally, it has a pause button, an increase/decrease volume button, and a microphone built into the wire near the right headphone so that you can remotely turn your music off or change the volume quickly with your fingers without having to grope around in your pocket. They're only $30 too.

i can't tolerate anything in my ear canals, they get very sore after just a few minutes. i have huge ears so most headphones just sit on the cartilagenous ridges of my ears, making them hurt [due to excess pressure] soon also. i use sennheiser hd580 ovation headphones exclusively even though they are terribly inefficient/insensitive [they take a comparatively high amount of power to get any volume at all] and they are bulky, but they are truly circumaural in that they totally enclose my ears and rest on my skull so there is no comfort problem there. aside from comfort, headphones tend to impart a "middle of head" sound that sometimes bothers me, so i also use a
Toltec Processor
to spread the sound laterally outwards towards my ears.

My inside-headphones are also too big to fit my ears, so I use them very rarely. I prefer big headphones. Recently I bought Sennheiser PX100, they are foldable and they have hard cover, so I won't break them so quickly.

I think that should be few sizes of inside-headphones, we're not all the same. I'd buy size S and I'd enjoy the gym.

My small headphones are Sennheiser MXL70, looking like necklace, I chose them because If they fall, they won't fall to the ground and I won't lose them. But it's not enough. They're uncomfortable.

Sennheiser's rock - I have a pair of headphones I use when mowing the lawn, they block the noise and sound great.

I have headphones that I got from france and they seem to have fit perfectly, only thing I hate about headphones is when I buy these cheap ones, I get upset that the sound quality just sucks and it isn't really fun to listen to as such.

Yet I hate it also when it falls out my ears, last time, I near;y tripped over them since they were long.

Same here, I hate the ones you put in your ears, which is why I have ones you put over your head. Much better.

I only have that earbud problem with one of my ears...the other one is fine for whatever reason (I guess I'm not very symmetrical).

I so I bought a pair of sports headphones for $15 and the problem is solved 8)

I have a pair of Bose earphones. The little rubber earbud covers come in three sizes, so the user can choose the ones that feel the most comfortable. The sound quality is pretty good and I think they're comfortable. I haven't tried exercising with them, though. The only drawback is the price.
