so I was wondering if any of you here on WP have made it into the upper class?

I am currently a lower middle class 18 yr old with no debt. I start college in the fall, and its getting paid for with my parents military benefits. so I think that puts me ahead of the rest of my social class who will be in a lot of debt after college.
my two main life goals are, to see any part of the world that interests me, and to break into the upper class and have a family after doing so.

Im going to probably study business,photography, and possibly theoretical quantum physics, or maybe even mechanical engineering.

I know I won't get ahead in this world relying on knowing people or having the right hookups. and I definitely don't want to get stuck in a career where I will never be a ' High up' due to social problems.

So my question remains. how would an aspie go about this?
I have thought of starting a business, and investing a monthly income into stocks and bonds, but I don't know enough about these things. In highschool I studied socioligy,economics,physics,bioligy,enviromental science, and those were the classes i got my A's in.

keep in mind, with me becoming upperclass has been an obsession and somethings I have talked about since age 3.

I'm not the one to ask. I got a 2:1 from Oxford, and 20 years later I'm living way below the poverty line. I'll never be middle, or upper class.

But having been to uni with a lot of the "knobs" I can't say I'm sorry not to be like them.

that is very infortunate. with me , I thought I was stuck being unable to go to college or progress myself. my mom wouldn't let me take drivers ed, wouldn't give me an allowance. I turned 18 and didnt even get my permit til 2 mnths later. I just got my liscence, and now my mom doesn't let me use her car. so I am moneyless, can't find a job in my city, and have no money to take a bus to find a job somewhere else. its your basic catch 22. and my mom still won't admit to it. she thinks since im 18 i should be able to do everything in life on my own, yet she never really taught me how.(i think she has ASP). she wants me to do chores, but then doesn't buy and food or groceries(buys groceries once a month but not enough) and doesn't give me money for food. then complains that Im always tired or sleeping.
which leaves my brain of logic saying WTF am i supposed to do.
Im a 6'1 18 yr old, 1 meal per day doesn't cut it and im starting to get skinny.
here is how I feel
Mom=Parent
Parent= help,food,guidance, source of income
Food= energy
6'1 165= lots of food
lots of food= $$$
$$$< work
work=transportation
transportation= none
no transportation= no money

SO i got super depressed and accepted my fate that im pretty much f*cked.

then amazingly my dad who wasn't there for me my whole life came outta the blue, and said he would pay for college, cost of living, and even my hobby of Muay Thai. So july 3rd I am moving to AZ to start a new life where college and boxing are my only focus's.

but for now im still hungry, any suggestions?
oh yea and keep ideas flowing , anybody who has them. Im hellbent on becoming wealthy and once I get my life on track nothing will stop me!! !

Well, cheap food I can help you with... as a young male and aspiring athlete you'll need lots of protien, and also I would add a lot of zinc. I don't know how much money your Mom is giving you, but see if you can stock up on tvp veggie chunks and mince... they are cheaper than the meat version, and have more zinc, because they're based on a bean. Get a big bag of rice, for carbs, which you will also need, maybe tins of tomatoes, gravy granules, dried potato flakes, and whatever vegetables you can afford from what's left. (If you can also get milk and eggs that would be a bonus.) Veggies that I'd advise for you would be onions, mushrooms, garlic, whatever green leafy veg you like, or basic salad ingredients. Some vegetable oil, or butter for fat (you need it both for energy, and to absorb some vitamins) And a loaf of bread a week at least. I'd advise you to get fruit as well, or fruit juice, but if you're mother's keeping you on short rations that might not be possible... perhaps get fruit juice and cut down on the veggies.

From that you can make a mince dish for the protien with a side of rice or potatoes for the carbs. If you can have egg for breakfast, or a bowl of cereal, and a couple of protien rich meals a day.

If your mother gives you extra money, stack up on bananas (full of zinc) and any other high energy fruit.

Zinc is very important for your nervous system, young men need more of it than women, and a lack of zinc can lead to depression.

Me/my family are considered upper-middle class, but the majority of the people in the area are considered upper class. It pretty much just comes down to how much money you have.

I know that, Im saying hypothetically how would someone with a learning disability such as AS go about a life plan structured out in a way to reap the highest rewards, and ultimately becoming upper class .
Mainly my reason for wanting so much money isn't greed, I wan't see the world, I want to invent and design vehicles for fun, I want land where I won't be bothered, and I want the freedom to worry only about things of interest.
So far in my life, I have designed and built two hangliders for under 100$, and I built a very basic hovercraft when I was 12 for 40$.

no surprise when I was little i was obsessed with making wings,paperplanes. I think the only thing that got me less interested with age was school. I was always working on school and too stressed to persue what I like.
I think if at an early age I had been taught in aerodynamics instead of all the other random crap teaches you you don't need, I would probably be designing very sophisticated aircraft by now.

Man come to think of it, space travel and flight are my two oldest loves.

MuayThaiKid... if you want to be inspired, watch the Will Smith film "In the pursuit of happyness", which I think he won an Oscar for.

It's based on a true story about a man whose life was so grindingly difficult you wouldn't believe it... a single father working his guts out to get a better life for him and his kid, he even ends up homeless.

This guy did succeed in gaining the life of his dreams, and I've read that the real life guy is considered to be on the spectrum.

Sometimes being on the spectrum helps, if it enables you to hyperfocus on something, and work your guts out when anyone else would fail.

Also... if you can afford it, throw in some tins of beans, and maybe oily fish for your shopping list. I'm a vegan, personally, but I don't think you can afford vegan sources of essential fatty acids, so a couple of portions of oily fish would do you good a week.

Oh, you probably can afford rapeseed oil. It's the cheapest source of omega threes I can think of. If you can afford a yeast paste (we call it marmite in this country, I don't know what you call it) that would be a good vitamin B boost... very important for mood and energy levels.

Keep us up to date with what you're doing, and as your financial situation improves we can work out a more varied menu for you.

Chin up. :)

Can't be done. You cannot become upper class. If you marry in, your children may become upper class, but you will never do so.

You can, potentially, get lots of money - good options are lying and usury, or "law" and "investment" as they're sometimes known - but that will not alter your class status, nor will fame.

The good news, for those born with the affliction, is that you can relinquish upper class status.

yea I see what you mean. I do have family that married into upperclass. and in my family history there have been some millionaires,and even inheritances, unfortunately my grandmother with dementia got cheated out of all of it.

I know for a fact that one thing I need to accomplish for it to work is figuring out at what point my money will make money.

I saw that movie and it was very inspiring, I Don't think I could deal with such extremes.

Well you need to be smart with your money and life planning, and you need to in many cases be VERY lucky. You cannot forget that the higher you go on the class pyramid, the less people are allowed in. Most people are only able to move one stage up from their parents, if they move at all.

My Great grandfather came to America in 1906 at the age of 7, along with his parents; none of them spoke English. According to the ship manifest and Ellis Island records, they barely had enough money to be allowed inside.

My Great Great Grandfather worked as a odd jobs man in the slums of Manhattan and died breaking even.

My Great Grandfather worked for the Department of Sanitation, managed to get all of his children to High school (excluding those drafted for WWII), but died in his 50s without ever learning to read, just 1 year short of his naturalization records going through.

My Grandfather was first ancestor to hold an office job, and worked for a magazine company, he cracked the lower middle class and his children went to college, but they had to pay for it themselves.

My uncles all became CPAs (went to college for accounting) and they all made upwards to $250,000/year before retiring millionaires. Most CPAs don't, but they had great job mobility.

This is one path that a family can take to the upper class. Now I may not make as much as them, however I have a higher chance at it than they did, since I have them to ask for career guidance, as well as an 'in' to the business world.

Teach yourself about the stock market and business online, that's what I'm doing. Google "Hot Stock Market", join up and learn.

The best way to learn about starting and running a business is to just do it.

Knowing people in the right places isn't as hard as you'd think. There's a teacher at my school who had his own online business, and made just under a million pounds from it. He knows lots of people in business, and is always more than happy to talk to me about it too!

There's also another teacher at my school who used to be a stock trader for a bank, and she's been explaining hedging to me.

If I can talk to people and get a start like that, I'm sure you can too.

Let the gains begin! :D

Been part of high society for years. It gets quite boring.
