My parents have been talking about getting a new one and found one for $399 (regular 500+) they then said here it's for you to start off college. I was stunned. :-) SO YA! I have a new laptop! It's charging right now (on the old one right now) :-) Can't WAIT! (g2 watch the E3 conferences ON IT! YA!) going to be strictly college only DLing Itunes/Firefox and use my external HDD (and Idump if I have too to transfer my Itunes account) otherwise CLEAN SLATE! YA!

Congratulations. I got my own laptop last November, and it was around $500. Now I don't know how I could live without it.

Toshiba 515 3GB Ram 300+GB HDD fairly lightweight (lighter than my current one) without a fan my current one (the bottom/top feel like an oven!! !!) Yes that's overheating/dangerous etc. and we've never fixed it just used a fan to fix the problem. This new one doesn't get hot (you can feel it venting on the sides. It seems like a great laptop. I'm letting it charge over night. My parents LOVE there Toshiba NO problems so I went with that brand it has been reliable for my family. :-) A great start to returning to college YA! (Have to buy my own printer and software though no biggie.) :-) BTW should I get a laptop sleeve? (They run about $50 bucks though!) I am planning on putting it into a backpack and tacking it to campus so is it worth forking out $50 for a sleeve? or go bare and just toss it into my backpack? Thanks. :-)

Congrats!! !

Best Buy replaced my dead HP (very underwhelming) laptop with a Toshiba A505.

It's the BEST laptop I've ever had! I'm sure you're gonna love yours. :D

Toshiba ROCKS!

 Sounds like your awesome new laptop DOES have sufficient tech specs for an E3 marathon. I'm jealous.
I'm using a Dell Inspiron with 2 GB RAM. It depresses me. I'm fairly certain there are several viruses running in the background. I almost have enough to get an iPad though :) So close! About.. $300 dollars away
You should get a sleeve :bounce: Order one on amazon! You wouldn't have to pay that much. Make sure you read reviews about it though. And get the right size :bom:

First thing I'd do if I were you is get Windows off of it! Install Linux or OSx86! But that's just my preference of course. If you do ever do either of those, though, prepare for a lot of work sorting problems out

Congratulations on the new laptop though!
