Just out of curiosity, is there any one on this site who is a practicing vegetarian or a vegan? And if so, for what reasons? I myself am a practicing vegan, mostly for moral or environmental ones. I've meet and befriended many a vegetarian or vegan, but so far most of the ones I know aren't on the Autism spectrum.

vegetarian, sort-of vegan here. just health and the disgust-factor nowadays. It's also rather routine and normal for me, I wouldn't want to change it. I used to be vegan but once I went on a gluten-free diet I felt it was too much to exclude, so I simply won't eat dairy if I can see it.

Um...I kind of am. I eat fish, so I don't call myself a vegetarian, but others do. I just don't talk about it cause someone always wants to comment on whether that makes me a vegetarian or not, and I try to avoid the argument.

I've always liked the idea of being a vegetarian because I'm an animal nut, and when I found out my friend had stopped eating meat I casually decided to try it with her. I started experimenting with my meats...stopped eating something for a while and tried it again, and I would notice a reaction. So I figured it couldn't be great for me to be eating them, plus I was doing fine without it anyway. After a night at the ER puking over and over after eating a hamburger, I haven't eaten any meat since :eew: Like I said, I do occasionally eat a bit of fish...I don't care for it much, but I haven't cut it out yet. I have some health conditions, vitamin deficiencies, mostly gluten free, etc and I'm just cutting things out slowly.

I'm not vegan, but I won't eat things with gelatin. It's gross to me.

Vegan is a really silly word. It sounds like a super-villain.

^^ Greetings Ergo-Proxy.

I believe I am certainly a happy vegetarian and would very much wish to become a vegan within the future. ^^ I believe I am a happy vegetarian as I feel that causing suffering for meat and other items is very unnecessary as I have been a vegetarian for approximately four years and have not been blessed with any unhealthy problems. ^^ I initially ate poor fishes when I first stopped eating meat within 2006, however stopped this approximately one year and a half later. Therefore, I have been a complete vegetarian for approximately two and a half years.

I attempt to only eat eggs if I believe that they are free range eggs.

Been a vegetarian for about a year now.

So far I'm feeling much better but dayum the price of fresh vegetables is crazy!!

I've been lucky enough to have neighbor grow some from his own backyard and lend us some.

Likewise.

My main problem with it is that I'm allergic to some nuts, which cuts down on my options for things to eat. :)

I'm a vegetarian for three main reasons:

1) I was raised that way
2) The idea of eating animal insides makes me sick
3) Mass murder of innocent animals isn't something I wish to support

I tried to become a vegetarian when I was 14. I was watching a television show in which one of the main characters became a vegetarian, and I thought I'd like to try that. I couldn't do it. I dislike most vegetables, and I like meat too much.

I'm a vegan. If I wasn't allergic to milk, I'd be vegetarian. I don't eat meat since ~13 years. I find its taste horrible. Meat stinks. I hate soya made meat-like.

it tastes like rock candy to me.
don't even ask me how i survive.

Foolish Humans. The so called greatest predators of Earth have softened. When the rest of the dragons awaken from their long slumber, the world shall be ours once again!

Naw, I'm almost a pescetarian, but being a full blown vegetarian makes life harder. I avoid meat when I can, but if I'm offered it, I will eat it because eating something that is already dead is the greatest respect you can give it. Of course, this is only when necessary. I don't go out of my way to order or purchase meat.

I hate when people ask: Do you miss meat? Hell no! No way!
Or: Do you prepare your meals to make them tasting like meat? It would be pointless! I can't stand this smell and taste! Bleeeeeeeeee!

When I was a kid I was forced to eat meat. In Kindergarten I used to exchange meat to vegetables with other kids. At home I used to give meat my dog or cat. Or I digged meat in flower boxes. And other ideas.
