What reminds you of Britishness?

For me it is:

- United Kingdom
- The British Crown
- British liberty
- UK Independence Party (a nationalist, eurosceptic party)
- Lovely green fields
- Country lanes
- Traditional British stodge
- Cups of tea
- Orange Order parades
- British cask ale
- A reserved nature
- Our lovely castles and stately homes
- Our propensity for drink
- The English language
- Our slight disdain for anything foreign

Can anyone name anything else?

As an Englishman living in the US, the things that remind me most of home are the little British sections you find in certain grocery stores here, like Whole Foods. That's where I pay slightly too much for PG tips, Birds custard, chocolate biscuits and various other imported foods, purely because they're so familiar to me. They're mundane little things, but it's kind of a comfort thing for me. I don't think I could survive without the tea. Other foods that I unfortunately haven't been able to get here include scones, and a proper Sunday roast. Really miss those.

I also stop by the Irish pubs they have here every so often, because some of them make a passable attempt at recreating the feel of the pubs back home. It's a little weird, but better than nothing when the homesickness starts to creep up on me.

Teenage binge drinkers.
And fish and chip shops.
And, of course, The Queen herself.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and my avatar - the Brit Bud rubber duck, which I want.

The Commonwealth - in one word.
That is so British.

The Muppet Show. Oh, wait, that's the same thing.

The Welsh language. Scots. Gaelic. Cornish.

Your disdain. I'll thank you not to associate it with me.

No, he's Welsh. Wales is the little country on the left of the island of Great Britain. It is a constituent country of the United Kingdom ("Britain"). Therefore he is British both by virtue of being born on the island of Britain and by being a citizen of the country of Britain.

Being British means driving to a Irish pub in a German car to get a Belgian beer then get some Indian or Italian food on the way to your Polish home to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV with your Chinese phone.
