I have this problem where people I know tend to tell me stuff I don't want to know about them... its really awkward and I can't get it out of my head for months at a time. I'd give a list of examples but many are sexual things (but one is a somewhat recent post) people here probably would rather I didn't say. What's the best way to "shake" this stuff out of your head?

Can't you be a little more specific? One example would do.

Well one thing I mentioned in a previous post (involving a relative) and another is being told by a female friend her plans involving a collar and leash when it comes to... with another guy ... I'm a magnet for this kind of stuff .

BDSM is a seemingly common fetish. It's nothing to feel awkward about.

I just felt awkward b/c she was telling me what she wanted to do sexually to a mutual friend... BDSM doesn't bother me so long as I'm not told too much personal stuff.

Well, tell her to not tell you that sort of stuff if it offends you.

Huh. I don't think I'd have a problem being told that kind of thing. What is it in particular that bothers you?

I'm generally a shipper in real life, so if I were in your position I'd probably encourage it! Then again, I think I try to live vicariously through my friends because of my own life's lack of romance so far.

What is BDSM?

Bondage, dominance, submission, sadism, masochism, etc.

You know, kinkiness.

It's not the acts that bother me, its just that particular thing reminded me of something the mutual friend said to me b4 (not about me)....
I also don't like being told by my relatives that they're not wearing underwear or being given their used underwear... its happened & I'm still traumatized .
I'm at the point where I don't think I've ever had a normal, healthy conversation *facepalm*

I guess I'm just unflappable. I don't think any of that would bother me. If someone asks you for a threesome and you don't want to do it, just say no :)
