Send it to a moderator along with the poster's name or post it in the moderation thread - it's spam and they will be banned.

That happened to me twice before. 99% likely it's fake.

I've seen these on other msg boards too, it's a fake. Usually it comes from some African or Eastern European country, just spam and scammers.

I got this as well. Was all excited to get a message, too! ):

I got one of those emails, I replied and then after a couple of emails where they said things to make me feel really sorry for them, like their parents had been killed, they asked me to send money. I knew then that it was fake and didnt reply again.

I have actually received several PMs from people that appear gregarious, although I am quite naive.

I would ignore the PM and report the user if the problem persists.

Someone reported it in the mod attention thread but they forgot to mention the members name so I haven't been able to ban them until today (12 hours later) by which time they have sent the same PM to countless other members. favour33 is now finally banned.

If anyone gets such a PM quote it in the mod attention thread, but please remember to say who sent it!

Scam, though somewhere at the beginning of my presence on the board I got a similar message from a dude from here who was a native of Koforidua, Ghana and we corresponded with each other for a short period of time.
