Not really, its participating that seems to count really, I don't really participate much as I'm busy with alot of things lately, but when I do have the time, I would just post mainly in the random part of the forums.
Off the wall part is a good part of the forum too, you get a good laugh out of it.
You could create common topics, that normally works for me.
