Aliens attack

So you're living your normal life, when all of a sudden, the world is attacked by a race of psychopathic humanesque aliens intent on...well killing us for no huge reason, simply because we're here and are inferior to them.
(This is from a story I wrote, in it, their leader, a really evil woman comes down personally and begins to destroy cities with various psychic powers, until a silent little girl who we find out is the same race shows up to stop her)
originally it was a comedy turned a lot darker with all the human death...

so what would you do?

Okay. That's what i figured since you've obviously been around here a while, and if it was "with the story," you probably would have posted in the writing thread.

Only thing I can think of is, get out of town.

I guess I should have thought of something before I answered. I've got an aversion to alien invasion stories. Think I'll post a thread about it in the writing forum for grins. Wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts about it seeing as your writing one. Don't worry. It's not a flamer.

basically the aliens (from what they say, since we can't understand them) is well...they like killing things, they like seeing creatures die
the silent girl is the same race as them, and thusly just as destructive, but for reasons unknown, not as evil
this was a demo to a novel I wrote, where the aliens did come here, however we hadn't been made/evolved/whatever yet

the reason i say you need a motive is because without one, how would anyone speculate about how to stop them?

well no one really does stop them, what they do is go from planet to planet, killing everything-mostly with fire-then leave, or construct temporary bases there
here they were looking for something (the little girl) and decided to clear away some of our "stuff" to find her (cause, why not they're evil as f**k)
they don't really have motives or anything-hell in the story some of them talk about how stupid it is to simply kill things without reason, and how their elders had a system of why they butchered weaker races into nothing and stuff)

its not a conflict story, its about a family and a few others, and their lives within the empire-how it rises and eventually breaks apart.
it isn't a good vs evil sort

ok .. are the aliens your protagonists? some kind of conflict keeps people engaged in a story; it needn't be a warring of good and evil, it could be an uprising against the aliens that obstructs their agenda, or something else they need to overcome before the story can resolve itself.

to answer your question:
i would try to convince the aliens i was one of them. desperate survival tactic.

Without a motive, you can still speculate how to stop them by having the information needed about their race. You would have to eradicate this race. Most likely their indirect motive would be our resources. The earth is plentiful in resources compared to the planets around us. However, it's possible that an alien race would be as stupid as us and use methods that would destroy or deplete these resources. Just as it would be stupid for us to contaminate a species with our viruses/bacteria and even the opposite where they would too, because we/they are not capable of protecting themselves against these things. This could also deplete/destroy resources. However, just like a fussy troll, sometimes there is no motive in destroying something, just "feel like it".

I would hide at the furthest end of the planet and strengthen my spiritual skills to find a way to destroy these aliens. It would take a lot of resources, including energy, and I would be very exhausted as we're a bit primitive on the spiritual level. This might include astral project into their world and destroy their world.
