I know a little bit of sign language. Not enough to hold any kind of conversation, though.

I'm in my second year of ASL
DON'T try and learn from videos anymore.
Instead go to these websites:
Life print

and

ASL PRO, video dictionaries

I LOVE SIGN LANGUAGE!! !

I want to learn sign language, and I think that everybody should learn that skill. It's a very useful skill to have and you'll never know when you will need to use that skill.

I have low vision & bad fine motor-skills so learning sign language wouldn't really be practical for me

I have always found communication interesting. I learned to finger spell (not the full sign language) years ago and only used it once for conversing with a deaf person. Finger spelling just takes too long. I have had conversations with other deaf people, but write out everything, since it is faster. I would love to learn, just as I loved to learn a foreign (Spanish) language. It looks like it would be fun. Seeing people sign is cool, but joining in on the conversation would be even better.

I would love to learn sign language as well... I'm quite good at learning spoken languages, so I bet sign will be a welcome challenge for me. Sign language would probably look good on a job resume as well. :D

Currently, though, I put my time into Japanese

I learned sign language for a while at school because there were a few deaf kids in our class and for some reason me and my friends ended up going to lessons. I got a fairly decent basic skill of it, though now the only thing I can remember is my name, and 'my name is _, what's your name?'...
