I just love cats. My entire room is decorated in cats (even the blanket!) and I adore my cat, Caffeine. He looks like my picture on the side. My old kitty lived to be 20. This kitty is 1 and 1/2, he's from Cat Rescue. He was a feral cat. He hates loud noises, is clumsy, enjoys hiding, likes to play, and is very sweet (towards people who are kind to him). I just adore cats!

We were talking about this on another message some time back - it seems that a lot of people who have AS tend to like cats . . .

As for me, I thought I was half cat and half human until I found out that was physically impossible . . . expressing this belief to my 2nd or 3rd grade teacher resulted in my first trip to the school counselor, too![/list]

I have always loved cats growing up. When I was 4 our manx cat would sleep above my head and groom me. It was the most annoying thing!! !

A few years ago I was told that im alergic to them =(.

Yes, I love cats, as well. I've been obsessed with them since as long as I can remember.

We had a cat when I was little, named Snowflake, and she had one gold eye and one blue. She was a wonderfully tolerant cat, since I was at that age where you just grab things if they appeal to you.

Snowflake passed away when I was in elementary school (2nd or 3rd grade, I believe). I got Socks at the end of elementary school, he was a fat, grumpy, amusing cat. I absolutely loved him, and he was my best friend. Sadly, he passed away just a little over a year ago, he had a sudden heart attack. He was only 9 years old  .

I also love to draw and write about cats, when I was younger, and now. I'm currently working on a children's book about a lynx for one of my classes. I also wear a winter hat with cat ears attached >^..^<

Yes, I recall the conversation. Unfortunately, I can't remember which thread it was.

I think, atleast for me, the reason I like cats so much is because I can connect to them. I am very catlike. My friends all call me a cat, and tell me I'm "like a cat." Cats are quiet, antisocial, pensive, skittish animals, all of which is just like me.

I, too, thought I was part cat. Now, I think it's more in the spiritual sense (perhaps a past life).

I love cats as well. And I also love dogs. I used to think that I was part cat, because I was shy and skittish. I like it when a cat walks up to me and rubs against my legs. I feel more appreciated by companion animals than I do by most people.

I've always loved cats, I used to have this awesome cat who thought he was human, he would play football and try to get in the car with me!

Cats are just fantastic.

That warm, purry furry goodness. And my cat loved to lick up the crumbs from a Cadbury's Flake that had dropped onto the plate. :D

I love cats, and dogs as well. We had an orange American longhair named pumpkin for 17 years-as long as I can remember. She was the perfect cat; dignified, playful, with just the right amount of attitude-she used to love to harass my dog! She didn't particularily like my brother but she loved me-she'd even bring me mice! We have a few outdoor cats as well.

I have always loved cats as well. As a matter of fact I have two of them, a male and a female. Mine are a bit shy but are loving to the people that they know.

It's probably something about AS which allows us (people with AS) to get along with cats very well.

I have AS and I have never liked cats. I can't think of any specific reason why. I love dogs, though. My dog is part German sheperd, and part golden retriever (we think). His name is Quaffle (yes, that is from Harry Potter...I got to name him).

I am allergic to cats, but I disliked cats before I discovered that. Made me dislike them even more, actually. Oh well, so I don't follow the AS/cat trend.

I love cats. Not as much as i used to, but still like 'em. I have cat pillows, cat figurines and i think i have some cat stuffed animals. I don't just like domestic cats. I like tigers, lions, snow leopars you name it.

I have two real cats, one is a grouchy tabby that seems a tad psyco, we call her 'chirp' or 'momma' and a uber affectionet touroushell. We named her Sheba. the name fits perfectly.

No wonder autistics like cats; since cats are autistic too! http://www.spacehost.us/~aliki/autism/autiecats.html

Seriously, I've seen a cat truly diagnosed as autistic once. It was always sitting on the upper kitchen cupboards, apparently. I stood for a long time looking just past it, while it looked just past me. That was really cool. (I don't usually call a cat "it", but can't remember whether it was a he or a she...)

As a kid I identified a lot with Annie M. G. Schmidt's Minnie; a cat who'd eaten some thrown-away experimental stuff and it had turned her into a human being. But she's still the same inside, so she purrs and hisses and climbs trees when she sees a dog and strikes out when someone's playing with his keys, etc. And she talks to the other cats, of course :). She moves in with a cat-loving, shy (Asperger?) newspaper reporter and helps him get stuff to write about... all information/gossip being supplied by the cats. Wonderful book.

 I sort of like cats. For my third birthday, I got a tiger (Well, he's supposed to be a Tigger doll from Winnie the Pooh, but no one would ever guess that) doll that I named Max. I have slept with him almost every night since then, and that's 10 & 1/2 years!! !! 8O Now he looks really old, but I love him.
Around December 2000, a stray cat came into our garage. We fed her milk and tuna that night, but then we found out that milk gives her diahroea. She pooped on our TV room couch! 8O We named her Miss Oreo. I wanted to name her Mojo (from the Powerpuff Girls ), but she is a girl cat.
Then about last year, we found a male cat that I named Pretzel. But Miss Oreo fell into a state of Depression and she attacked him :o ! So we gave him to my grandfather.
I'm allergic to cats. I'm getting used to it now.

See you around. Ha ha ha!

Yours truly,

Christopher Grills
