Why doesn't Windows Live Messenger work?

My Windows Live Messenger hasn't been working in a while. Do I need to access it from hotmail?

Try Miranda IM or Digsby.

Meebo.com works better than hotmail.com for using msn.

Because it's made by Microsoft, and therefore is a POS.

No, you can access your emails from www.hotmail.com

Also, you could use a different IM client like www.pidgin.im although you might not like that it has no video or audio support. Miranda IM is even better than Pidgin but for someone new to it it's very difficult to set up nicely.
