Look at her blank expression, the empty eyes that stare at nothing, the mouth that hangs retardedly open. She looks like she should be alive, but she has no soul. If I saw one of these in real life, I would run away screaming.

Eh, she doesn't look that realistic IMO, not enough to invoke the uncanny valley response in me.

Reborn Dolls on the other hand.... 8O

I think this picture convinces me Real Dolls are creepy though:

Dolls don't really creep me out. I kind of like porcelain dolls, especially the ones dressed in Victorian fashion.

I don't understand "super models" or "stars" or "sex symbols".

Most of them look like nasty bimbos anyway so what makes them special?

Every week, just walking down the street or going into a supermarket I will see a girl who makes my jaw drop and my knees tremble.

She might just be a "checkout chick" at the supermarket but I look at her and go "Oh my god, you are so beautiful"

I dislike those realistic baby dolls.

In the first post, I was looking at the doll's hair and eyes thinking, "aww, she's actually kind of pretty." Then I scrolled down to the mouth and I found myself a one-way ticket to the Uncanny Valley. :(

The doll in blue_bean's post looks like Cuddy from House.

RealDolls are the epitome of creepiness, because they basically resemble a human corpse, and they're designed as masturbation aids.

Maybe adult section? I actually like them. I love dolls, but the use for this freaks me out.

I like my dolls, but mine are not to replace a umm partner. I have a couple hot guy dolls, but they are only a couple feet tall.

i am kind of glad for the ummm special purpose of these dolls. i hope they are developed to an even more realistic degree so they can eventually interact with the owner like a hot robot. i see it is an important function - providing a service where nobody gets hurt (unless she short-circuits i suppose lol)...

There was a great episode of Twilight Zone about a (simulated) female android acting as a companion for a prisoner exiled on a planet who was sentenced to a solitary existence. The android was given to the prisoner as an act of mercy by a pilot dropping off supplies. I am not giving away the plot. The show was about his reaction to the android.
