Have a bit of a questionaire for you guys here, and hoping that some of you guys could help me out with it.

Basically, there is a hypothetical product that I'm working on called Laser Fresh. Basically, it's a laser that's supposed to replace the role of dental floss, and need to do a bit of market research on it. Don't worry about the science of it, as it's mostly fictional.

One of the market groups it's supposed to accomodate is people with various sensory issues, so figgured that this would be a good place to check out.

1. If this product exists, would you be interested in buying it?

2. How much would you be willing to spend on a product like this?

3. What kind of additional features would you like to see out of a product like this?

4. Would you encourage your children to use it (if you have any)?

I'll bite.

1. I would because I don't floss due to sensory issues. I'd brush my teeth with steel wool if I could cause i like to keep them clean and am anal about doing it regularly, but I can't take the feeling of flossing.

2. I probably wouldn't spend more than $50 USD.

3. Well, I also scrub my tongue to help get rid of bad breath so guess why couldn't it be safe enough for that? And if it were capable of being sensitive enough to clean gums why not inner ear maybe even nose? Laser hair removal also is an existing technology but still requires a professional (i think?) and I would guess the 'over-the-counter' idea of a gum laser would be similar enough that it would be able to multitask as a laser hair remover/shaver kind of thing.

4. It would need some legitimate endorsement, FDA type stuff and more than just late night infomercial kind of stuff before I would use it let alone family.

1. Hell yea.

2. I'll pay anything around £50 (yes, I'm british)

3. I would love to see this product work as a new toothbrush.

4. If I don't die from it then yes, I'll let my future children have them.

1. Maybe, I don't floss normally anyways so it would have to be REALLY easy and convenient to use though
2. 5$ or at most 10$, but I'm a cheapo
3. Brushing your teeth without putting it in your mouth (but good luck with that) and WHITENING, I'd probably pay more if you could show that it whitens your teeth, or prove that it gets rid of ALL cavities
4. IDK, I don't have any, but If I did, I would encourage based on the considerations posted in the answers above.
