Random thought I had earlier...

If you are walking down the street, and there is no sidewalk - where are you?

I'd most likely be walking at the very edge of the street.

I go to this place where I want to come. I don't care about people.

In that sort of scenario I'm more likely running/jogging and looking behind me periodically then walking. I don't trust drivers to keep their damn eyes open.

I go against the traffic on the very edge of the road. If I'm going that way, I can see oncoming traffic and move off the road entirely when they get close; otherwise, I've got to hope that I hear them coming and that they see me if I don't.

Same here =/

I know they say you're supposed to go with the traffic, but it really drives me out of my mind to know that cars are speeding towards me and I can't see them coming.

I'd rather get a ticket or whatever than die.

I've always been told that if you're on a bicycle go with the traffic. If you're walking go against the traffic.

I go against the traffic, as well. I've read that it's safer to do it that way.

on the curb practicing my balance, or right at the edge of the road if it's not pouring down like it has been for the past 2 days

if drivers are going to be stupid they will, regardless of what side of the road you're walking on

If there is no sidewalk, where I am, it's the law to walk against traffic. It's just safer if you can see what's coming at you. If you walk with it, it's too easy not to hear cars coming from behind. Walking toward them, you see them before you hear them, and can react if something goes wrong. The only time I break that rule is on some sharp blind corners, where you can't see what's coming.

Facing the oncoming traffic and staying as far off the street as possible.
