I absolutely love Wrong planet. I enjoy many interesting/inpspiring posts, and with the high activity of members, i feel WP is truly a blessing. However, with that said, I have to say there are certain posts, especially on the "random discussion" section that unfortunately cauaes Wrong Planet to mildy annoy me. These posts are generally boring posts that get a lot of answers. I'm not going point out any individuals or state specifically which posts they are, but they are usually posts that asks a generally unexciting question that's easy to answer. Some general examples are: "what time is it".... "what are you eating".... or "how old are you." The thing about these posts that particularally annoy me isn't the posts them selves but the fact that the constant answers to these posts constantly bump them to the top of the thread- they end up being the first posts you see on the thread and you have scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page (or go to the next page) in oder to find the good/exciting posts. I think this can be kind of a hassle and I also think this discourages new members into believingthis site is as excited as it really is. I also think this reduces the amount of answers you get when you make a post. What do you think? Do you agree?

to each his or her own. it doesn't take too much energy expenditure to scroll down to the next page. one person's "boring" post is another person's joy, I can't take that away from anybody.

I kind of understand what you mean but those posts/threads don't really annoy me. I'm also aware some people have recently been complaining about counting threads in Off the Wall. I'm not annoyed by them, either.

I think different people have different perspectives/purposes. Some individuals enjoy participating in easy unimportant threads. I mostly come to Random sub forum because I want to have fun reading/posting unimportant things just for the sake of loosely interacting with others. Although I don't think those threads mean much, I think of them almost as greeting threads. I also do enjoy knowing what others are eating etc. There are some threads that I deem too boring. I have no idea how they could be so popular but the fact that they are popular means some people enjoy them. And I think it's good that some people can enjoy something I can't.

The old site had a list of new topics. I wish this new site had both new topics and recent posts.

I enjoy the posts you are talking about :D

"What are you eating right now?" is normal small talk that might lead to normal conversation. Doesnt bother me.

But "count to a million by threes" is just pointlessly brain dead!

I think the counting ones are for the math-gifted people. If I was good at it, I might enjoy it.
