Do any of you know how to pronounce the Chinese surname 'Ge'?

I believe it would be pronounced with a hard G sound and something resembling a soft U sound. Kind of like "guh," but not quite. I'm not sure how to describe it through text--sorry. :? Do you know how the "ze" in Mao Zedung is pronounced? I believe it is that E sound.
