It'll only be shameful or humiliating if only a few wore it among prisoner with normal colors. Otherwise it'll just become the norm and no one will give a f**k.

I don't wear pink because it's just not my style, but I don't mind others who do.

Also, I would hate for anybody to try and force me to wear anything.

Actually, it always seemed to me that pink is misunderstood. Back in the days of strong gender bias, blue was considered a cool and passive color and assigned to females, and red a warm and aggressive color and assigned to males. Pink is just a light red, therefore pink should be a male color. Somehow we got that turned around when applied to babies and the "mistake" has proliferated. I sometimes wear pink, but never in total comfort: I am usually trying to make some kind of point.

The whole pink = girl, blue = boy thing is largely if not entirely cultural, it used to be the other way round.

When it comes to the colour pink on men, I like it better when they don't try and deny that the colour they are wearing is pink.

U know those guys that show up in a pink shirt and say "its not pink, it is salmon" . or say that its lightish red.

An exchange between a fan and a male comedian
fan: Its nice to see a man in a salmon shirt.
comedian: lets get one thing straight lady, it's pink.

I loathe the colour pink solely because it is a bright colour, and I dislike bright colours.

Colors don't really affect me much sense I have some colorblindness. I don't think it be that embracing for em to wear pink sense they are all wearing the same thing unless other people are able to see em like that. If they were working on a chain-gang on side the freeway wearing pink tutus; it would be embracing  A stand-up comedian(I forget who) joked; prisoners should be forced to wear clown outfits because nothing is scarier than being raped by a clown 8O This reminds me of that ep of SuperJail where the warden makes em all wear bunny suits

That's rather a sexist notion there. Pink is a color. The only reason it would be shameful, is that it would "feminize" them in this cultures standards. And being feminine in any way is of course, shameful.

If we buy into those stereotypes; the prisoners would prefer pink because they are gay  I think the logic for having em wear pink is flawed

Make them wear pink to stop them re-affending!, how pathetic is that, bring back the good old days when criminals were really punished.
I vote we ship em off to Australia.

This conversation reminds me of the 80s. How curiously post-modern.

If Mick Avory wore pink, so can I.
