I'm doing a little case study, who else here loves cats and has been or is obsessed with them?

Why are you?
What makes them more appealing than other animals. I can only answer for myself but I want the opinions of others.

My mom is obsessed with cats. I'm constantly getting pictures of cats sent to me and messages about them. I just felt like saying that.

My first and favorite pet was a cat. This wonderful cat lived a long life of 16 years.

Why a cat? Tactile reasons - I love they way they purr and the feel of their purr. Even if they can be so aloof and independent, I still endlessly adore them. I have one now, prescribed as an emotional support animal, and would like to add one more.

I prefer cats to dogs, but I would choose to have no pets in the house. My wife likes cats a lot so they stay. No biggie.

I wouldn't call myself obsessed with cats, but I do like and have them and have had cats since I was 5. It was easier to convince my parents to get a cat than a dog. After having a dog, though I wouldn't eventually mind another, I decided I'm generally more compatible with cats because dogs always want attention while cats are generally just happy if you gree them, feed them, pet them on occasion and sit in their vicinity.

I have cats. They don't smell as much as dogs, are generally softer, and leave me alone when I want them to. (Well, mostly.)

I love cats.

I relate to them tremendously. I've described in another post elsewhere, but it was so superficial that it barely scratches the surface.

All of my mum's side of the family love cats and I'm no exception. There is something about them that I find more beautiful than humans. I like big cats too, my favourite animal is probably the black Jaguar. Ironically I'm allergic to cats but I'm still going to have one once I get a decent (socialable hours) job and a suitable house / flat. I want a rescued silver tabby ideally but I believe these cats are rare, tortoiseshells are quite cool

I love cats.

They are pretty, and clean, and don't drool (much). They don't need a lot of attention, but they can still be very affectionate. They purr and have soft fur. They are warm and don't need too much space. The are relatively quiet. They are intelligent. You always know where you are with a cat; if they don't like you and you don't treat them right, they won't stay around.

Cats are usually more independent than dogs, less annoying (usually annoying means noisy) than dogs (or girlfriends for that matter), they overall have a better demeanor to them, they seem more intelligent, they are really better off physically if you think about it and other reasons....like me being an evil genius.

I've been around cats my whole life and I do like them and they seem to like me. But the kitty litter smell is a major down side. And some cats do pee in the house on things. We have two cats where I live. I like how they hunt/play. I also like that they're more independent in some ways. I kind of like them laying on my lap as well.

I also like black Jaguars, cougars and Snow Leopards.

i've always loved cats! they are so poised and graceful.. and when they want to have fun they just go crazy cute or just plain crazy. plus they could be affectionate, climb on my lap or shoulders, bite my nose, sleeps next to me, they do the kitty massage when they purr. and my cat talks to me, even screams at me if i've been gone long or for some reason i dont know; like as if they're mad. and they are quite good hunters and guard cats.. hehe.. and they have these very cute faces which is also mysterious. they could look very serene and could also look very fierce. and my aspie said because, yeah, they're independent, and "you dont own your cat, your cat owns you". :)
