learning french?

hello whats the best way to learn basic french for when i join the french foreign legion? ty

Do they still have a foreign legion?

Probably the quickest way is to go to France and submerge yourself in the language.

Have you taken formal instruction? I took three years of Spanish in high school, and am currently taking another in college, and that's how I acquired my skills with the Spanish language. Although I am far from being fluent, I do know a lot.

It could be an advice to download the audio book "Learn french with Michel Thomas". It is an english speaking person who explains easy basic stuff for learning french and I found it helpful as a start.
