Maybe. My cat doesn't like to be around guests either. Cats are very independent, but they can be skittish sometimes.

My piano teacher had 2 cats. The male cat was very friendly. The sister was very scared and would hide. During some of my lessons the male cat would sit near the piano pedals.

I honestly think one of my cats is on the spectrum somewhere.

Probably. My cats don't socialize with any one who comes around either unless they are family memebers and they have known them before. Obsidian even growls when men come to the door. But they are all social with each other. I had an old cat who died (may he rest in peace) not too long ago who would only socialize with one other cat of mine. He thought he was better than anyone else. So I believe it can happen. I wouldn't feel bad for it though. It could just be the people who have come around so far. Maybe they smell funny to Misti or something.
