Some people look good in moustaches, like Tom Selleck and Teddy Roosevelt. But I cannot imagine myself ever wanting to grow one. I could see myself wanting a beard at some point, but it would probably be Amish-style (no moustache).
For that reason I wonder if it's possible to have some sort of operation to kill the follicles in my upper lip so I don't have to bother shaving it. Has anyone else ever thought of this?

There is such a thing called electrolysis, which is used to remove unwanted hairs.

I wish I could permanently remove my facial hair. It is possible, but only if you're rich. I shave and then my stubble is like cactus needles three hours later. And I don't like to grow it out either because I look old and hickish when I do. >_<

I literally have a mustache on every single day until I get to point where I would get so bored of it... I don't even want to get rid of it and constantly face getting asked for ID.

I would show you the pics but I can't really face putting it on there.

I have thought about the "Amish style" you have mentioned, but I do not want to ever have to shave. So, I just trim my moustache whenever it gets long enough that my coffee or whatever ends up dripping from it right after I drink or eat something.

Many years ago, I once tried plucking by beard on the thought it would not come back and I would not have to shave, but that certainly did not work and my neck was then really sore and quite a mess while that hair began growing out again.

I have gone through several facial hair transformations in the last year, but can't quite decide which is best for me. My facial hair under my chin has gotten darker as I've gotten older to the point where I almost have two tone facial hair. As for mustaches, when I have one, I won't let it get too full. It just doesn't look right to me. Most of the time I like to skip a day or two between shaving. It looks masculine without looking like I possibly escaped from some institution.

Moustaches are awesome on the right people. I am not one of those few proud men. My facial hair must be uniform or I cant stand it. I could potentially grow a mean beard, but I never end up getting through the itchiness around week 4. My father looked like ZZ Top at my age but that is not my style.

Moustaches are so so cool but, as observed upthread, they only work on the right people and I'm not one of them. Who was the guy who played one of Monica's boyfriends on Friends? He had an excellent tash

I shaved my mustache a couple days ago but I'll grow it back till it starts getting long & I'll shave it again. I grew a beard after I graduated high-school. I had it for a couple years but I shaved it off because I my girlfriend at the time was coming down & I wanted to look nicer for her(it was long distance online thing & we didn't see each other much). I haven't grown one sense but I don't shave every day. I shave every few days when it starts getting itchy or long or when I have something going on like a job interview. I'm very nearsighted & have a tremor disorder when doing things with fine motor-skills so I can NOT do a good clean shave. I wish there was a safe not to expensive way to stop that hair from growing permanently. I wish Medicare or Medicaid would cover something like that. My problems shaving are related to my disabilities & shaving is more dangerous for me than others. The mustache doesn't matter to me because it's easy except it's a little time consuming
