Earlier in the day I was in some intence negotiations with my favorite dealer, well I decided to pick up this guy. 10.2 cts! what a beauty i tell you, Green crackle over orange/red. it looks like those hawaii lava flows, and is a signature of Slaughter mountain.

oh, that's what a fire agate is. You mentioned it before in another thread and I didn't know what it was. It does look pretty cool. I don't think I've seen one before.

Its a mine. on the apache indian reservation. the mine at deer creek is practicly done with, there are a few locations there like the one track mine and some others that still produce the good stuff

But only the indians can mine slaughter mountain. and they dont use heavy machinery, I guess because there indians and they dont want to abuse the land. thats probably why slaughter mountain still has fantastic material

No, its not found like that. you have to be a skilled fire agate cutter to even think about exposing the gem layer
