I have, and finally found out it was a debt collector by using this website: http://800notes.com/
you can reverse look up any phone number you dont know and see if others have gotten the same phone call. I thought it was pretty cool, So I thought i'd share it. :pig:

They could be associated with the previous owner of the number...When my grandmother got a new landline, she kept getting all these calls with loud beeps and sounds. Turns out the number used to be a fax number for a local hospital.

Ahh... now that you have the name of the agency, try to find out the manager's home phone so that you can call him at 3 am to complain.
Or if you can get his internet address use it to sign up for free accounts on porno sites.

I'd answer the call and let them know they have the wrong number and that it is you they are speaking to and that you are not the person they are after. They would then stop ringing.

Unless...do you owe people money and do they have cause to think so. I saw you were posting around that you were buying Fire Agates (sp?). You would not be doing this if you did owe others money surely? That would be stupid.

I don't even know how to block phone numbers and thank goodness I don't get any telemarketers. We used to back when we had a land line until we got rid of it. We even used to get a tons of calls from a Spanish speaking person or from people looking for a certain person. My husband figured someone must have the phone number that is close to ours so they get them mixed up but I am thinking someone may have had that number before and then we were getting all these calls.

My mom on the other hand gets calls all the time looking for my Aunt Mary or for her daughter Meredith and my mom is also Mary but they both have the same last name. But she doesn't even give them my Aunt's number nor my cousin's, she just tells them they have the wrong Mary and she has a daughter but her name isn't Meredith. They have the same last name and she isn't the Mary they are looking for.

I get calls from auto-dialers, & businesses every few days on my cell. Most of the tiem I do not hear anything when I answer. My # is registered on the Do Not Call List & I report those calls https://www.donotcall.gov/ for what little good it does. What really ticks me off is that I sometimes get calls where no # shows up at all. I wish I could block em. It seems like the phone companies would have some method of identifying em. I think some drug dealing whore started giving out the wrong # recently because I've getting some text from people wanting to buy drugs or talking about sexual stuff. I've also gotten a few calls from things like Fannie Mae, debt collection, insurance, ect asking to speak to the same woman. it started about a month ago but I've been getting calls from auto-dialers & scammers for a few years.

Look Mcfly. i dont need your advice, I do what i want
Instead of pay the $326 dollars I owe i've already decided to let the statue of limitations run out on this debt. making it impossible for the collection agency to legally collect anything!

Credit is BS anyways.

I'm not complaining, i'm making conversation. I thought other people might be in the same boat and would like to see who was calling them

I get those calls all the time. More often than not, it's some kid making a crank call.
