like watch TV or a movie or anything like that I am pretty much just thinking about my own thoughts and I never pay attentions?
It is like I am watching a screen inside my head.
My Dad has it also, like well be watching a movie and somebody will say "remember that part" and I won't remember it because I am always thinking about something else?

... Didn't you already post something along the lines of this topic in another subforum?

Sounds like an attention problem.

I think I recall seeing that topic somewhere.

It is like I am watching a screen inside my head.

I do occasionally "get into" and follow an actual story line or whatever, but most of my mental energies are specifically devoted to sorting, culling and processing "technical details" more related to real life and human behaviour ... kind of like via that "screen inside my head" you have mentioned. My wife is sometimes baffled when I cannot tell her what had just happened while she had been looking away or something for a moment or two, but then I cannot imagine how the story line can hold her attention. Overall, maybe some of us are just more interested in how things actually work than we are in whatever might merely *seem* to be going on.

Yes, that's fair enough. Often my interests lie more in self generated mental abstractions than what is going on outside my head. I think the 'problem' only arises when it's in your interest to maintain an interest in something happening in the outer world and you can't.

IDK why that is, but I'm the same to large degree. Add listening to music, reading, (supposed to be) writing,, listening to the radio, or for that matter doing anything else, and you've got me...

I'd be very interested to know why that is as well.

Sometimes I feel like that .. my own thoughts are more important then what's infront of me.. I don't have many offline friends, but online friends sometimes I want to just be left alone for a few days, my own thoughts and do my own thing. I think maybe it's normal.
