It was hot and horriby oppressive this afternoon. The temps were in the 90's and the dew points were in the 70's. The weather service said there was a front moving through and things were ripe for nasty weather.

I was on the roof of our house all afternoon watching the storms move in. We had three rounds of severe weather move through. We were under a severe thunderstorm warning for three hours straight. A few miles north of where I live in the city. Things were an awful mess. Trees were down everywhere and all the roads were blocked and power was out everywhere. We just can't get a break from the bad weather. Either it's hot or it's stormy outside.

Two weeks ago we had baseball sized hail do tremendous damage in parts of the county. And there talking severe weather again on wedensday.

Even for us this much severe weather is abnormal. Anyone else having abnormal weather this summer?

Actually, we could use a good storm or 2 here in SE Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. It has been too dry this year

I know about the heat however. Today Rochester hit an all time record for demand for electricity. IBM had their generators running and it was not close to enough to cover the demand.

We get the heat and humidity and bad storms here, too. I hate the heavy feeling in the air.

We get the heat and humidity and bad storms here, too. I hate the heavy feeling in the air. It also appears to have gotten hotter here in the summer with milder winters. I keep hoping it isn't from global warming. I also think I have seen some insect species here in the last couple of years that aren't normally seen this far north.

Over here we're having a heatwave - well, a relative heatwave for Britain anyway :P It's been about 35 degrees C (95 Fahrenheit) today, and the past few days it's been around 30 C. Which for us is hot. Bearing in mind I go from cold at 18 to hot at 22 ... It's a novelty but after a day the novelty's worn off! Yesterday I had 4 nosebleeds because of the weather. Grr. A couple of weeks ago we had a storm which was amazing - I had nosebleeds that day and a couple either side, too.

We've been pushing 100 for the past couple days and mother nature's fever finally broke tonight with a thunderstorm that looks like a hurricane. Lights are blinking and everything.

Oh, and ryansjoy...just be glad you don't live on Long Island. I had a $115 electric bill. And $34 of it wasn't even for electricity! Thank you LIPA for passing your fuel costs on to us.

The last two days it's been unbearalbe 100 or close to it but last night we had incredible thunderstorms with pea sized hail that dropped the temp about 20 degrees.

We get oppressive heat and humidity here, and we do not like it.

Every time some sort of toxic material is put on my face and I go outside, I get irritated.

What’s rain.....heck what’s a cloud haven't seen one in till today in weeks. Where I live we get 2 or 3 days a year of rain and that’s about all. In return we get horrible heat and when it dose rain the humidity is so bad because the water evaporates almost instantly. Our forecast for tomorrow Friday 7/20 is 116 sunny skies (116 isn't to bad it was 121 a week ago). This sounds extreme but it's completely normal for this time of the year.
