9 years ago today George Harrsion of The Beatles passed away (Well, it is the 29th here in England). He, along with the other Beatles, is undoubtedly one of the greatest musicians and songwriters of all time. R.I.P George!! !

3 Beatles songs written by George:

If all 4 beatles were alive, I doubt there would be as much "worshipping" of the band as there is right now.

I love George Harrison. I love Here comes the Sun, Something in the way she moves, and Within You, Without you. those 3 are amongst my favourite Beatles songs. I am lucky enough to have all their albums on MP3, thanks to a friend. :)

The Beatles were a great band. They're still a great band. I'm sure that John and George are looking down at all the die hard Beatles Fans, right now and always. I remember that day. I walked into my clubhouse and some older lady said something along the lines of, "Oh...cheer up. We all heard the news."

The Beatles were one of my earliest obsessions, eventually leading to one of the best jobs I've held in my life.

I remember "where I was" when I heard that George Harrison had died. I woke up to the radio every day and listened to it on the way to school and I knew. Me and the other kids who liked the Beatles talked about it all day in class.

I was in Grade 11, and Sept. 11 had happened so recently. I remember going home from school and watching MuchMoreMusic, which had a George Harrison/Beatles tribute on all day.

Long live the Beatles!

My parents were huge Beatle fans, so I grew up listening to them. In fact, my mother was in the audience at the Ed Sullivan Show the night the Beatles first performed, in February of 1964. Exactly nine months and one day later, I was born.

Naturally, people tease her that I look just like Paul McCartney. I think I look more like George, myself.
