Yall know me by now I let things people say to me upset me quickly and just wanted your views please on this. I'll copy/paste what I posted. First off in class we were discussing racism in the current chapter and I posted the following.

I was looking at window panels in the hardware store and saw the color Black/Negro UH! Last I heard Negro was a negative term towards African Americans that was destroyed years ago! UH! APPARENTLY NOT!! !

A students reply was this: This post is kind of sad, but I think you should click this:

It was a link to Google translate which is fine Negro is Black but IMO how I see it it's a negative term towards African Americans used during slavery times. My view still stands I'm just hurt that that student said that. :-(

Well, seeing as the word in that context is very likely to be Spanish and not English, it's really stupid to get upset about it... :P

Ah! Thanks I didn't make the Spanish connection. I know it's not something I should be upset over but IMO he seemed kind of rude. Like I'm supposed to automatically know it's spanish. That thought didn't cross my mind until you mention it thanks. :-)

No problem. :) It was a bit rude, he must've assumed you should know what it means.
