Is this common?

I remember being good looking at high school, then at 17 I got real ugly..BUt at about 18 to late 19 I started to get really good looking again.

Now I think about it it's a bit weird. I mean at 17 I was so ugly I mean 1/10 ugly my face was big and round and spotty, nose was big. Then at 18/19 it was much more attractive shape again, nose seemed smaller, better jawline.

Yes, I think so.

I can't recognise myself in pictures from when I was 13. I was looking through some old pictures with a friend a while back and she was going on about how much I'd changed. I looked really weird then, all lopsided. Now my face has evened up, I've sort of grown into features. But another person came up to me the other day and said something like "I saw an old photo of you the other day and you look exactly the same as you do now" (the photo was of me when I was five).
I still don't really know what I look like, apart from individual features. When I was little I didn't have the faintest clue, I was surprised people could recognise me as someone they knew. I think I read somewhere that that's an Aspie thing.

I had braces and acne at 13-14. It was normal I guess , it went away over time and now I never break out.

I've always been mostly clear-skinned and child-faced.

OMG, yes! I was effing fuuug-ly! No wonder the girls didn't like me. I'll post a pic later. Daughter is beckoning me.

Yeah, I grew up with a really found face (still roundish now) and during my earlier teens I had the grown-up body but this fat round child's face. When I was about 16 I started to look more mature and my face slimmed, now I'm comfortable with my facial features (my body is an entirely different matter all together though. :x)

Yes, it's very common. The transition from child face to adult face is often not an attractive transition. Thank goodness it's temporary.

I've still got spots everywhere, have done since I was 8 or something. When will it go?? They should have gone by now surely.

I still got a few, but not as bad as when I was... 14-18-something, and mostly at the sides of my nose or the backsides of my ear, and loads of spots on my back. I try to keep them at bay as best as I can, but don't really obsess over them.

My face got really bad during puberty; I had bad acne. I tried a couple prescription meds for it because it was really bad but they made me sick. My face has lots of acne scars & I still occasionally suddenly get huge a pimple. I also started growing facial hair early as well. I can't do a good clean shave due to low vision & bad fine motor-skills. My face looks like $h!t sense I hit puberty.

Looking at old pictures of myself from when I was a teen, my facial features used to be out of proportion and my acne used to be much worse than it is now. Not to mention I always had a bad haircut and I was fat.

Nowadays my facial features are more proportional and my acne is a lot better. I've also found a haircut that actually works for me and I'm steadily losing weight (11 lbs in 4 weeks so far). I'm no supermodel but I don't think I'm too hard on the eyes.

Would you mind sharing your weight loss technique(if you already posted about it; I missed it because I don't read everything here). I'm a little overweight but I'm slowly losing it. I'm eating more regularly & not pigging out on snacks & junk as much. I should start exercising so I can build some much needed muscles. BTW I only seen a couple pix of you but I didn't think you were hard on the eyes

Honestly, I have no idea how I looked. I've never considered myself particularly good looking, so I doubt I would have noticed getting especially unattractive in my teen years.
