I started a new anxiety pill over Christmas and its an odd feeling. I JUST DON'T CARE! Where I'd usually get upset over little comments or complaints towards me OMG! house is dirty OMG! why did you do X? f**k IT! I JUST DON'T CARE! Anymore!

With my 2 WP friends One a gamer on FaceTime another strictly email.

Past me: OMG! New Mario OMG! Gotta call the gamer OMG! Why isn't he picking up PICK UP DAMN IT!

Now: Uh whatever he has his OMG! trauma depression life I DO NOT need that in my life currently Oh well to him. ( if I talk to him and he picks up fine if not that's fine too.) If we don't chat for weeks that's fine too.

Past me: email friend OMG! I send 6 emails before 3PM OMG! where are you haven't heard from you all day OMG! Now I'M the one barely emailing her! Usually I email her when I get up but I don't feel like doing that much anymore. We usually talk about the drama in my life and she's helpful for that. Sure less drama less stuff to email about I guess but I don't FEEL Like OMG! drama! email you! I feel f**k IT! I can sort of (not 100%) but SORT OF! handle the life drama on my own to a certain extent.

SURE this email friend I still worry if I possibly don't get an overnight email (we are 2 hrs. apart me ahead/her behind so usually am happy to see a reply overnight so if I don't see one the next morning I do sort of worry. Or her email breaks I worry or all day grading essays I worry (she teaches at a University).

Otherwise! I don't feel like I have to email this friend 6+ times before 3PM OMG! where are you OMG! The gamer as I said if he picks up the ring fine if not fine.

Is this an ok/good thing? Can anyone relate????

The anti-anxiety medicine is taking away your anxiety. I think this is a problem if it takes away all of your anxiety or makes you apathetic. A certain amount of anxiety is necessary and useful. It's there for a reason.

If it only takes away the excess anxiety, then I wouldn't worry at this point.

I was on a drug that caused apathy for me and it had a very negative effect on my life.

What are you taking, if you don't mind my asking?

Lexapro. Started around Christmas. I'm happy I'm not caring about little comments towards me and rudeness or comments instead of leading me to cry and run to my room in tears my mindset is f**k YOU! (You don't literally say that I KNOW that's a SOCIAL NO NO and SUPER RUDE! To swear at people but you think it vs. OMG! They put me down I'm a failure can't believe they yelled at me again! Now it's 90% or so f**k YOU! mindset. :-)

The gamer friend distancing is nice since he has his own depression issues I don't want to get wrapped up into. The email friend lately has been wondering "Oh haven't heard from you lately" etc. but she understands the change and both are Aspie so they "get it" so to speak.

I'll look into Apathy to see if that may be an issue. Luckily the only "side effect" really is excessive yawning even not being tired which is FINE to me. Other possible side effects from Google I found were nightmares/insomnia don't have those THANKFULLY!

Thanks WP! As always.

Glad it's working for you :D Just make sure to tell your doctor about side effects and to be aware if it changes your mood in a way that was not intended.

I'm glad that Lex is helping you. I used to worry about not hearing back from people right away & lots of other things before I started taking Buspar for my anxiety & Neurontin for my OCD.

Buspar gave me MAJOR nausea! Even didn't matter if it was a full or empty stomach is was random too. Some days ICK other days fine I could never pin it down to full/empty it'd be on random days! never heard of Neurontin. Don't think I have OCD. :-) Glad things are helping you as well.
