Happen to me alot in the past. My blood pressure has been high for many years
so you can get it with any blood pressure i guess. It concerned me in the past
that I googled info on it then. I came up with basic lame addvice get up slower!
Which if you spend alot of money at a doctor he may tell you.

This used to happen to me a lot when I was growing up. It wasn't a problem usually, but one morning I ended up on the floor of my closet. Then once I got dehydrated and disoriented, losing vision for a few minutes. My parents took me to have tests run, and they never found any problem, said I was perfectly healthy. It happened less and less as I got older. Now very rarely, and never to the same extent. I was always pretty skinny as a kid and never did much in the way of cardio, so I think that may have had something to do with it.

yes be concerned, remember if you start to feel light headed then lay on the floor then you don't hurt yourself when you faint standing up.

this has been a problem since i was a kid aswell. and its why i don't want to go to the doctors because its happend alot and it hasn't killed me. i just don't want to go through all of the trouble of making a doctors appointment to only have him tell me im healthy

You probably should go to the doctor though, just so you know for sure, and don't risk letting something serious go untreated.

But I wouldn't let it worry you too much.

It probably means you are dehydrated. We are supposed to be drinking like 64 oz of water a day. I'm chronically dehydrated and I hate the taste of water. I get the dizziness and blood pressure drop too. It's not really good for you, even if it doesn't pose an immediate risk. When your blood pressure drops, your heart has to beat faster to pump the blood. Check to see if you have a high resting pulse rate.

I've felt faint. And I've fainted. I fainted at the wrong time once. I was at the top of the stairs in my house.

Yeah, that happens to me too, because the recommended blood pressure is 100-140 and mine is about 70. I think it's because I don't eat much or exercise. Oh well. The stars are kinda cool anyway.

Hi

I have this too. So does my Dad (only much worse). I believe it's called postural hypotension. It's pretty common, but still worth seeing a doctor about.

In my Dads case, his doctors gave him a blood pressure monitor to wear for 24 hours to see what was happening. Unfortunately his blood pressure gets so low it goes totally off the scale and gets recorded as an error, which then gets disregarded!

In terms of treatment, I don't know of anything aside from the usual advise of standing up slowly. My Dad wasn't offered any treatment and his was an extreme case. Having said that, I live in the UK and the healthcare system here isn't particularly good.

Do you think there is any available treatment? I think one thing to do for hypotension is eat more salt; that helps for me.

Anyway it's probably better

Anyway it's probably better than hypertension, at least in long-term possibilities (heart disease and such).

(sorry for double-posting, that was an accident)

If low blood pressure is the problem nicotine is a nasty little chemical that can
boost blood pressure and its usefull in a number of mental disorders like ADHD.

Nicotine gum and patches are very expensive in the US.

Hypotension is low blood pressure, and indeed being dizzy when you stand up is one of the symptoms. Hypertension is high blood pressure.

I really advice you to go to a doctor for a blood panel etc. to see whether there are any underlying causes. A lot of things that cause hypotension aren't necessarily very serious, but I would want this one checked out if I were you.

Alternatively, get your hands on one of those cheap blood pressure testing devices to see if you actually have low blood pressure, and go to a doctor if you do :-)
