Okay, as many of you know, the objective of the thread above is to reach 1,000,000 by counting in increments of one.
I am curious to know around when, exactly, we will reach 1,000,000.
My (probably incorrect) math placed us at Thursday, July 19, 2159 at the rate we are going.

The thread has been active since 12/26/2007, which was, as I am typing this, 1,207 days ago.
We are currently at 22181 in the thread.

22181 / 1207 = 18.376

This is where I start to feel intellectually incapable.

I then divided 1,000,000 by 18.376 and got 54,148.8, which rounds up to 54,149...

Today = April 27
April 27 + 54149 = Thursday, July 19, 2159

~

What is the answer? 8O

Mathematics is not my strongest subject, so I doubt that my approach was correct. :?

okay, i've been up since 2pm yesterday, but I'll try to figure this out

22,181 is the total count, you divided it by the total number of days it's been active getting the average counts per day of 18

You'd actually need to start from the day the thread was created in this instance then, so you'd need to knock off 1,207 days from the date in 2159 that you came up with. Today's date is only useful for finding the average # of posts per day.

I did the same calculation a few months back, and posted, but nobody seemed to care much :lol:

Thank you!

Did you remember to include the 36 leap years that occur in that time? :wink:

Actually it would be 35, since if you count back you miss the leap year in 2156.. Febuary 23rd.
