I often go to other forums when I am bored and when I am a noob I sometimes seem to post questions in the wrong category and that usually makes people mad. Like sometimes I would go to fanfiction.net and post questions there and the people are always saying that I am a troll because I post in the wrong section. I have no idea on where to post because I am a noob there. I also like to ask questions for some reason more than answering and I get people saying to me to stop making threads and I get really annoyed by this. I don't like answering questions that much but it just bothers me when someone tells me that I am posting in the wrong category. Also tell me if this is the right category for this question. I don't know if I am posting in here or not. But I would like to know do people think that you are annoying or a troll when you post on other websites?

Sometimes... and rightfully so.

I tend to refrain from posting somewhere until I'm comfortable with their rules, and then I'm very careful about what I say because I worry overly much that I'll say the wrong thing.

Back in the days, people would refer to me as a troll or a wannabe troll as a previous member here have called me and the days when I just wanted to be cool.

I've pretty much grown up since then really, I don't do too much things on forums nowadays.

I've only been called a troll on THIS website by a fellow aspie because he couldn't take a joke.

There were times during my Livejournal years that I stuck my foot in my mouth or didn't use the right words to articulate my point and caused an unnecessary stir that was difficult to walk back. It doesn't help that Livejournal is the land of overreaction where people will crucify you for saying the wrong thing. Match and gasoline.

There was once when I was bullied on the forum (which turned into OFF the forum, too) of a special interest, but these people bothered several people. I still left the hobby because it wasn't worth it. I'm a grown woman with a life and I didn't have time for that crap. But a related interest that has a lot of the same people (just not those bullies) on that forum has been without incident or problem.

All other forums have been completely without incident or problem. This is considering back to when I started on the internet back in 1992/93 and includes IRC and newsgroups.

Maybe at first, but people generally figure out I'm just blunt pretty quickly.

That is, when I'm not trolling them.

Occasionally. I have been called one here too and people have thought I was one.

I was called one at Babycenter recently but I thought better than pissing off a bunch of people so let them think that. We were all posting our bad mommy moments and I posted mine and I seemed to get some attention from several posters and someone said she wasn't sure if I was some flakey poster but troll away and another person didn't think someone would post it on a public forum where a bunch of mothers post. Oh well. Now to see if my post will end up on Babycenter fails 2. :P

This is the only discussion forum I go to. Years ago I was a member of a space/amateur astronomy forum and they liked me enough to make me a moderator. I don't think I have the troll bone in me... Though I do enjoy being irreverent, which can rub people the wrong way; until they get to know me, I think

I get annoyed when you are simply a guest in a forum and everyone is against you because of an out of the box opinion...even the mods threaten to delete your posts.

Those forums deserve to die simply because of how stupid it is run....then again you have people there who may have AS but still act like total 6 footed bell**** just for the sake of being different.

*By no means it's meant to cause offence to anyone here, this is experience from myself really exploring different forums.

I was called a troll on here once, due to the fact that I was using humour to deal with a troll. I had to apologize in a hurry, so I wouldn't get banned.

I have never been called a troll, but once some people got mad at me on a forum for a band because I didn't like a website about one of the band members that everyone loved.
