As the title says: list small pleasures. Not big, life-changing events like marriages and births of children, but the little things that make getting through each day more pleasant.

I'll start:

1. Watching sunlight shine through leaves.

2. Drinking cold water on a hot day.

3. Pillows.

4. Changing into pyjamas after a long day.

5. A nice sharp pencil.

Sunsets
Banana milkshakes
A favorite song that comes on the radio just as I was thinking of it
Hearing from my friend
Looking up as a light rain falls
Cherry blossoms (dogwood is good, too)
Sherlock moments (times when I do something that people look at with wonder, until I explain it and demonstrate how obvious it was...usually followed by expletives hurled in my direction, but I don't care. 8) )

My father-in-law was a master of small pleasures.

Give him a cup of tea and a cookie and he would treat it like a Japanese tea ceremony.
He would feel the warmth of the cup and the aroma of the tea. He would savor the first sip and the first bite of the cookie.

When he walked down the street he really would stop to "smell the roses".

I used to think it was a pain in the neck but now I see that he managed to wring more happiness from everyday life than most people.

standing in air-conditioned cool comfort indoors on a roastingly hot summer day
eating room-temperature aged sharp cheddar cheese and high butterfat dark chocolate
a good-old-fashioned thick chocolate malt milkshake
a stiff cool breeze as one is outside hot and sweaty at some labor-intensive task in the sun
warm socks on cold feet
warm gloves on cold hands
a filling hot delicious meal descending an empty, cold and flavor-bereft gullet
the first fall red maple leaves
the month of december [my b-day AND XMAS]
being at the seashore on a brilliant sunny day
the cool dewey stillness of an early summer morning, before sunrise
a good belly laugh

Having amazing long dreams, I have had loads of them recently.
Finding a new favourite song.
Drawing a picture I'm very pleased with.
The satisfied feeling I get when I've had a great day with a friend or friends.
Eating peanut butter on crackers with a mug of chocolate and looking through hilarious threads on somethingawful and similar sites.
Getting up in the morning in summer.
Finding and buying the perfect piece of clothing.

Warm summer breeze
The sound of rain on the windowpane when there is no need to go outside
A walk in a forest
First blossoms of spring
Waking up and smelling the coffee
My cat purring

Long, hot showers.

When my composition teacher agrees with me or says that he likes my attitude.

My dog greeting me when I come home.

The moment when I finally relax at night and the almost-audible chatter in my head shuts up.

Managing to get everything done in a day that I'd planned to do.

The smell of books.

I'm getting the distinct impression that you like books.

Walking outside when it is dark and peaceful :)

Sitting beside rivers on a nice day.

The stars.

Meditation.

Minimal Techno and Progressive House.

Listening to Carbon Based Lifeforms (Acid Ambient)

That long awaited occasion when I smoke a joint and relax.

Babies laughter.

The satisfaction of making a well presented meal.

Being free from negative thoughts (which I do not achieve some much any longer).
