At the moment i am taking a 1 year gap from my old college since i am a 21 year old student. i will be starting a new job towards the end of the year.

previously in the time off i would go to bed at 4:00 in the morning every night and wake up at 1:00 in the afternoon and 5:30 in the morning on the weekends....... my parents warned me that i should go to bed at a earlier time so for the last 2 weeks i have been going to bed at 1:30 in the morning and waking up at around 11:00 or 12:00. i think when i went to bed later i did not get much daylight which is not good.

the problem is i used to enjoy staying up all night using my computer and watching films but now i can't do that anymore.

Could i go to bed on weekends at a later time or will that drive my body clock crazy? Apprently going to bed really late at night is just not good for your body.....

Well the problem is going to bed on the weekends will make it harder for me to adapt to earlier nights on the weekdays :?

Oh well. So your plan might not work. :?
But changing any established sleeping pattern will cause some difficulties during the adjustment from one to the other - but look at it this way: once, you didn't go to bed at 04:00, and then you did. You can change it again.

Good news on the job, BTW. :D
Maybe it would be an idea to start readjusting sleeping patterns now to suit the job's time requirements, so it's less of a problem when you come to start it.

But now i can't enjoy my aspie interests on the computer at night or watch really cool films that are show on TV either :(

Heh. Welcome to the world of "working for a living". :lol:

Don't worry - you'll find ways of fitting it in.
Maybe not quite as much as you used to, but think of the advantages holding down a job would bring.
Gotta be worth making some sacrifices for that. :wink:

You realise though i may not actually be starting work untill 2012 becuase its hard to find a job out there? That and i have still gots months left of my gap year off.

Oh. It's just that you said "i will be starting a new job towards the end of the year" so I took that to mean you would be starting this year.

So, umm, how long do you want to postpone adapting to a new sleeping routine?
While it's tempting to postpone it for as long as possible you need to balance this against a possibility of leaving it too late, and the job failing because you're too tired to do it.
It might be a good idea to start adapting, at least gently, well in advance don't you think?

i know but come on i want to be able to have some fun in my life.

Would it cause me a problem say if i set off too bed at 3:00 in the morning on friday, saturday and sunday and go too bed at 1:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thurday?

the thing is though i have never been a good sleeper so if i go too bed in the summertime too late daylight will come around faster making it tougher for me too drift of to sleep because there will not be much darkness. :?

One thing that keeps me up as well is having to go to the toilet to urinate all the time at night because i drink a lot of water during the day..... maybe try going to the restroom more during the daytime?

How can anyone answer that? :? None of us is you! :lol:
All I can say is "try it and see how you do".
There are no hard and fast sleeping rules. Some people are Ok on a few hours' sleep, others need a solid 8 hours or more.

Keep the curtains closed?
Seriously. That must be one of the easiest ways of ensuring darkness for sleep.

Yes.
Or maybe don't drink quite so much. You're peeing it out because it's not required.

Imo you'd feel better if you got to bed around 11pm everyday. How life usually works out is you usually miss a lot of sleep during the week but your on your feet so it doesn't matter. Then during the weekend you catch up/come in really sleepy Monday. And if your not going to work until 2012 you really only have 11 months to worry about or so, if you can hold off that long you won't have to worry about working.
